Dayne - is he playing (1 Viewer)

Any Houstoners have any updates on Dayne...from what I can gather it looks like he is iffy at best, with Walker and Ech sharing time? Anything more current or any indication on who gets more carries?

I found this:

(Rotoworld) Ron Dayne (ankle) didn't participate in practice Tuesday.Impact: Dayne still hopes to play on Thursday, but the Texans have already said they're planning on him missing the game. We'll know his official status after practice tomorrow, but all signs point to Darius Walker starting in his place.

And this:

(KFFL) Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans RB Ron Dayne (ankle) did not practice Tuesday, Dec. 11, and is day-to-day with an ankle injury. Dayne may be available to play Week 15.

I picked up Darius, I almost hope he starts and gets all the carries just to see what he can do.

From Rotoworld.com

Ron Dayne-RB- Texans Dec. 12 - 6:23 pm et Ron Dayne (ankle) missed Texans practice again Wednesday. He is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game.Besides Matt Schaub (out, shoulder), Dayne was the only other Texan not available for Thursday's workout. He also did not practice Wednesday. The "questionable" tag means Dayne is considered "50-50" to face Denver, but the Texans will likely consider it a bonus if he's able to play. Dayne seems likely to see a limited workload even if he's active, but if he is, Darius Walker should not be in fantasy lineups. This is a situation to avoid if possible.
looking more and more that Walker could end up getting the bulk of the work.

I was surprised that Dodd's early projections had Dayne getting 15 carries this week. I thought that would be adjusted after Dayne failed to practice again on Wednesday...but tonight's updated projections still have him getting 15 carries.

I've found that Bloom's projections tend to reflect injuries better than Dodd's...so I'm curious to see Bloom's take.

When do those updates show up on the site? Just after kickoff :coffee:

Blooms updated projections are up and he projects Walker as the starter FYI.

Ron Dayne, RB, Texans: Dayne has been nursing a sore ankle and there has been some question as to whether he would play at all. Megan Mannful of the Houston Chronicle reports that Dayne "didn't sound convincing" when saying he hoped to play through the pain. As of Thursday morning, Dayne had not practiced, but coach Kubiak is still holding out hope that he can play some. If "some" is what the Texans are hoping for out of Dayne, he is not a good fantasy option. Darius Walker is expected to get the start here.
