Looking for any info on rookie DB Tavon Wilson, NE.

Noticed with FS Steve Gregory (hip) ruled out week 5, Wilson played 99% of the snaps for the Pats and had some nice stats (5-5 T-A). Has 14-7, 2 INTs, 2 FRs, 3 PDs on the year in a part time big nickel type role. Mid 2nd rd pick, 6'0", 210lbs (one inch bigger than Chung). Any chance he takes over as the defacto SS here? Any info on the severity/duration of Gregory's injury?

I realize those are the official labels. Do they really mean anything in NE, because they don't for many other defenses.

Just looking for input from those who have watched the Pats play. I've noticed Chung's stats have been marginal for awhile now, and was just theorizing that the Pats may trust the veteran more in coverage, while playing the rookie closer to the line, seeing as he is a bit of an DB-LB tweener. They play Seattle this week, so the DB closer to the line could be a jackpot. But this may all be moot if Gregory comes back, because they surely won't be playing nickel very much.

pretty much depends on the opponent, I think.

they are very risk averse to giving up big plays, so you see a lot of cover 2 shell against many of the better passing teams.

kind of hard to say against seattle.
