dealing with yahoo leagues (1 Viewer)

I have shockey, and he's done squat so far and I don't even know if he's playing this week. i'm in a limited roster league and due to byes this week don't have anyone I care to drop besides him, but Yahoo has him on the "can't cut" list and won't let me cut bait and move on. Do I have any recourse? was going to pick up Heath Miller fwiw.

If you have a commish, he can change the list. If not, try and discuss the problem with the yahoo's support staff. They were pretty quick last season when I wanted to drop some QB(Favre?) who was on the list.

someone have an email for the yahoo support? I can't find it anywhere....their "Help" section does say this however:

The Can't Cut list applies to all leagues, Public and Custom, in Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football and cannot be modified or eliminated from individual Custom Leagues.

The Can't Cut List is comprised of 30-40 of the best players in the

game. When a player is on the list, he cannot be waived from a team

under any circumstances, even if he is injured.

Yahoo! Sports will review this list regularly and make adjustments to

account for long-term injury and performance issues. Players may be

added or removed from the list at any time by Yahoo! Sports.

Yahoo! will review all customer recommendations regarding the addition

or removal of players from the list. However, we cannot comment on the

status of any player or any possible actions that may be taken in the

future.

The list is designed to prevent managers from compromising fair play

within a league by dropping impact players to waivers during the season.

Players on the Can't Cut List may be benched or traded.

While it is not possible for the commissioner of a Custom League to

manually add or remove players from the Can't Cut List, the feature may

be disabled entirely at any time during the season by editing League

Settings using the commissioner tools.

I have one yahoo league, but it is a private league that was started years ago and we just keep it on Yahoo for nostalgia sake.

Why are you cutting him? At the very least, trade him to one of your rivals for the last man on his bench (who you can promptly cut) and saddle your RIVAL with the problem of being unable to cut Shockey. At the very most, Shockey still holds a lot of name value, and you could probably get something quality in return for him. Package him with one of your WRs and see if you can trade him for an upgrade at WR.

I offered a trade for Witten (person already has Crumpler) - who i may keep or drop for Heath Miller. Can't be any worse, and both could be much better. As for why a yahoo league....it's friends and we've done it for years and it's easier this way because we are scattered about the country.

Maybe because you get your moneys worth. I have had leagues using CBS, ESPN, Fanball, and MFL but yahoo has everything that I am looking for sans the live scoring (but its 10 bucks) and has the most user friendly system around in my opinon. Sometimes people just like to throw money around because they can....

Don't cut Shockey. He will be huge in the playoffs should you make it there because you know the Giants will be playing to make the post-season untill their last game.

If you absolutely must drop him all you have to do is present your case to the comish (he should understand). The comish can then turn off cant cut list allowing you to drop shockey and then he can promptly turn the list back on. It should really be that simple.
