So it appears to me that the font is a little lighter than it was even earlier today. Photos look the same. The font just looks like the tape in the typewriter may be starting to run out type of thing. Anyone know what this means? This thing has to be at least 8 years old. Otherwise everything else on here is fine other than it can be slow.

Hook it to an external monitor and compare the results (probably going to see the same thing but you will eliminate the screen as the core issue).

I've seen the same sort of thing from old desktops (fonts look sort of fuzzy or slightly shadowy) and i don't think there is going to be much of anything you can do about it. At least on the desktops, when I swap hard drives between identical model pc's that are doing that, the problem doesn't follow the hard drive, which is enough to convince me that it is a motherboard issue.

Before you pay for anything, play with the f1, f2, f3 buttons up to unroll you find one that says contrast. Turn up the contrast. Do the same thing till you find brightness. Try tinkering with that too. You might have a dedicated button on your machine that controls this stuff.
