Dennis Pitta – back to TE1 status? (1 Viewer)

Had him stashed as a deep reserve, but I’m thinking that Pitta may be back to TE1 status he had been earlier in the season as waiver wire darling. No longer a flash in the pan, but can you count on Pitta in the championships? Giants got embarrassed in Atlanta and are in must win mode. This may be a dogfight but it’s at least going to be a home game for Pitta vs the GMEN. Anyone else rolling him into their lineups?

Borderline in my opinion. He's a huge risk high reward type IMO. Luckily Gates has been awful enough for me to roll the dice on Pitta yesterday and it paid off. I would hate to have to rely on him in championship week but I will be one of those probably.

great ball skills, trust from Flacco, and he runs routes that Flacco can actually throw with accuracy consistently. I think he's on the verge of a good run of TE1 numbers. Even showed some run after catch ability for the first time yesterday.

A good chunk of his production was in garbage time. This offense is so dysfunctional right now I would have a very hard time trusting anyone in it for any kind of consistency.

Starting Ravens players is the same as Giants players. Try to avoid as much as possible because you have no idea what to expect any given week.

I think it's too early to call. I was listening to Paul Charchian's fantasy radio show a bit Saturday morning and he picked Pitta as a sneaky play. He presented a lot of statistics that supported this week to be a good matchup for Pitta.

I'm not sure I trust Pitta but I think I better start paying closer attention to Charchian on Saturday.

I rolled the dice with Pitta yesterday, and I was handsomely rewarded. Would I prefer to have a better option to roll with in the champsionship game? Sure. But I don't. I don't see another TE on the waiver wire with the upside potential. And when you're talking TE after the Top 4 or so, upside's everything.

Besides Steelers and Browns he has done pretty good all season.

We award 2x yardage to TEs but outside of those games he has averaged 14.7 in 10 games in my league. You can pretty much pencil in 4-5 catches for 30-40 yards when he isn' playing his division.

I will probably shy away from him this next week but was more than happy to start him against Washington and Denver. I would say he is a TE1 with matchup favor and a TE2 against his division/bad matchups.

That was a complete garbage time game. Not saying he can't have those days in the regular flow of a normal game (he can), but much like this year, they will be FAR AND FEW between.

Is he a TE1? Yes - I see him in the top 12 at the TE position. Can he be trusted in the Championship game against the Giants? He's a TE. Trust no one.

Denver D was dead last in the NFL against TEs. Pitta was a great matchup play and it worked out in garbage time. I would not expect this against the Giants.

I guess it's probably expecting a little too much giving him TE1 status. What I really want to know is does his recent body of work, coupled with a new OC who seems to be getting Pitta involved more translate into a safe flex play. I'm not benching Tony G anytime soon, but I'm tempted to flex in a Pitta over weaker options at RB and WR. Trying to gauge what Pitta's floor is in this new offense. Any Baltimore homers care to chime in?

I've been using Pitta since Gronk has been out and he's been +EV three of the last four weeks. Very pleasant surprise.

That said, hope like hell Gronk is activated this week because my gut says a dud is coming this week. Ebb and flow, regression, blahblahblah.
