Dentist Question - Crown related (1 Viewer)

I thought you were asking if they were using cam or cad.   We use cad at work it didn't look like that, it was an actual image of the tooth that they routed the crown from.  It took the woman over an hour to design my crown and then when she was done the dentist had to make adjustments.   Seems like a really long time to do that.

FYI, the dentist re-bonded the crown.   He said they root canal that was done a long time ago went deep into the gum that makes it harder to seal and if it comes off again he said something about a post.  I think I will just yank it as it is a back bottom tooth.

Also, thanks for the replies D, if you fly out to the Rio on the 24th I will buy you into the circuit event Deeps Stacks tourney.

it's cad/cam,  hour is par for the course,  I personally hate the in-office mill crowns, but some people really do it great and the same-day service is really great and can be a practice builder...   I still make a temp and send to a local lab,  so there is a temporary phase... but I think my end result is very good

This guy just started a 2nd office and picked up a partner.   Guessing he is not stopping there but I think with expansion you lose quality of care at a certain point.   I go to thier first location and I have only seen the name dentist once which was my first visit.   Him nor his new partner have been around for my other 5 visits.

When you go to an office with the in-house Mills the trade-off is generally a quicker crown but poorer quality. Most Dentists would not accept this same crown from the lab but they have no problem seating The in office crown.  The CAD systems have really good tooth libraries and most of the time they still have the same function and fit, it's just the aesthetics that are off. If it's a posterior tooth you won't tell the difference anyway.

I agree with dentist I think it might've been a poor batch of adhesive, not the crown itself

I wouldn't do that.  In the end, it pays to have all your teeth.  They provide mutual support.  Get the post if necessary.
