Deon Grant will play strong safety for the Seahawks.

Bad news for Michael Boulware. Mike Green and Brian Russell are likely the top candidates to man center field. Grant hasn't been much of a playmaker since his Panther days, but looks like the best IDP in Seattle's secondary.

Grants value sure takes a spike up with this news. I just wonder if he can play solid enough in the box.

Mike Sando seemed to think Russell would take most of the strong safety snaps after minicamp. It may not matter much since the Seahawk safeties are considered interchangeable, but any extra snaps on the strong side will help.

I heard the same thing from Grant's mouth on Total Access this evening while listening to sirius NFL Radio about 8 PM EST. I was thinking the same thing, if he becomes a 3 down true SS his value could take a HUGE spike.

So is Grant the starting SS? They are paying him enough to be, but they have a lot of bodies at the position.
