Depth chart accuracy (4 Viewers)

I'm in a deep IDP league where pretty much all starting players are rostered. I've used OurLads' depth charts for a long time now, though I can't say I know how accurate their info is. They have a "last updated" timestamp that's always recent and changes frequently. Anyway, looking at their Raiders depth chart today, a couple names I'd never heard of jumped out at me as starters -- Kyu Blu Kelly at CB and Chris Smith at S. So I researched further and came across official depth charts from the team:
Aug 19
Aug 12

These depth charts have Kelly at 3rd string and Smith 2nd string. They're a lot more in line with what I was expecting.

Does anyone have any insight on these Raiders and/or the accuracy of OurLads' depth charts in general?

I have found that most depth charts in the pre-season (especially for defense) are not to be relied on. They usually have pretty bad information. I also think I remember reading at some point that the NFL depth charts are put out by marketing people in the front office and sometimes have no basis in reality as it's just someone putting something out there because they have to do it.

I always take them with a grain of salt and really try and get a few sources of corroboration to have any sort of reliance on them.

Agree with Gally. Definitely don't trust NFL.com.

I do like Ourlads and find some errors but I find them to be the most useful, often catching trades or injuries within an hour. But again like Gally said, probably not a singular "go here everytime" resource that I'm aware of.
