I though getting him a new deal would just be a matter of time this preseason once the Vick deal was done. Now nfl.com is reporting that the Eagles haven't even extended a single offer. Now I'm starting to get a feeling that DJax may not get a new deal and become a FA. Philly homers please chime in on what the hell is going on here.

they've been talking. they are too far off to bother with an offer at this point. i think they will find an agreement but with maclin, avant and now smith, philly has the leverage here.

It's madness. Absolute madness. I just don't understand the people that run this organization. Throw millions of dollars at free agents and build massive excitement and yet moves like this (not taking care of the most explosive player on the team) a safety sized middle line backer, rookie kicking game, o-line coach turned D-Coordinator, I could go on...

These moves will be why once again the Eagles will fall short I hate to say.

I realize that Jackson is a bit hard to quantify because he is a bit unique. He doesn't catch the number of passes that other top WRs get and yet he may be the most terrifying player in the NFL. Brian Balldinger on 97.5 here in Philly has repeatedly said the Eagles should start ever game by throwing deep to him. He just instantly puts opposing Ds on their heels. We are talking about a guy that broke Gail Sayers record for TDs over 50 yards. Gayle Sayere fellas. If you're too young to know who he was--look him up!

I absolutely am shocked that Jackson is not only gonna play for 600 Grand but he's even gonna return punts!

I was totally on the team's side when the Owens debacle happened but not this time. I could hate Ried and management for this. It makes no sense whatsoever...

He's gotta be fuming when he sees these huge deals announced pretty much on a daily basis. I really am starting to think that he walks at seasons end.

They can always franchise tag him next year if they really want to. I like to think that as is often the case things are being kept quiet and they are working something out.

Love having Jackson on my team, and will be wearing his jersy today. That said, Philly has a ton of depth at WR, and Jackson might well be asking far more than he's worth (at least to Philly). I'd like to keep him, but if Philly were to save that $$$ for another postion (LB/O-line), I'd be OK with that too.
