Dewayne Robertson (1 Viewer)

We'll see ...

Completion of the trade is contingent upon Robertson agreeing to a new contract

Bengals send picks to Jets for Robertson
Was about to post... this shoudl answer the question as to which scheme Cincy plans on running. In that link, they say he'll be a much better fit in Cincy's 4-3 than the Jets' 3-4. Obviously Robertson dissapointed as a NT, so I'm not sure the Bengals would go after him if they wanted to stick with a 3-4.

The talk this past offseason is Robertson as a 3-4 DE.

Apparently the Jets didn't think so, or felt they had better options at DE. I mean bringing in one turd (Jenkins) to replace another turd (Robertson) seems like the Jets brass doesn't have much of a clue right now, especially considering the kind of money they are throwing around.

Deal didn't happen:

A deal that would've sent Jets DT Dewayne Robertson to the Bengals in exchange for fourth- and fifth-round picks has reportedly been called off.

It's the second deal for an interior tackle Cincinnati has missed out on. The trade hinged on Robertson signing a long-term deal with the Bengals, but he balked at reducing his remaining salaries ($6.8 million in 2008 and $4.5 million in '09). The Jets will likely continue to shop the 26-year-old.

FFMastermindDewayne Robertson Has Bone-on-Bone Knee ConditionThe New York Daily News reports the Cincinnati Bengals may have been alarmed by a bone-on-bone condition in DT Dewayne Robertson's knee, which caused them not to want to give him big bucks in a new contract. That inability to get him signed long-term caused the trade to fall through.

It's a degenerative condition in his knee too. Came out a long time ago, there's some other reason this was truly turned down. Everyone knew that, it's just a convenient excuse

Trade talks between the Broncos and Jets involving DL Dewayne Robertson are beginning to "peter out," according to Newsday.Robertson failed his physical and Denver is strapped for cash. The team released eight operations staff members on Wednesday, including web site editor Andrew Mason, who did an excellent job. Robertson would also require a new contract if he was acquired. He may now be cut this summer.

wow... didn't know he was hurt that bad; the guy has missed no time.

Let be be very clear here....DSlob has been a complete bust. To think he cost 2 1st rd picks and a 4th makes me ill.

This is why you don't draft guys who you only consider 1st rd talent AFTER the combine. Workout warriors rarely pan out.
