Dexter McCluster (1 Viewer)

Another owner in my FFPC league (and one of the top 10 teams overall) just spent 85% on McCluster. Next closest bid was 56%. He needed an RB2 pretty badly.
This is where I was with one of my FFPC teams. I spent $527, next bid was $485. I needed RB help on an otherwise very strong team. My top two RBs were Reggie Bush & Cedric Benson. (David Wilson, J Stewart, Mendenhall)I think it will be $$ well spent. We'll see.

He made it through waivers in our league so I can pick him up for free. Does he have more value than Pierre Thomas as my 5th RB in PPR league?

Gotta be honest, all his hype is starting to scare me. I liked it better when he was off the radar.

But oh well, 3rd year WR scenario + an OC that seems like he wants to utilize him + check down daddy Cassel = a weekly flex starter in PPR.

Cut'm up, Dexter.

The guy who got him in my league bid $82 out 100 dollars. I had bid 10 or 15.
Wow! That is ridiculous, I don't expect McCluster to be much more than a flex player at best. I'd rather save that money up for a potential rb stud on the WW later in the season when the injuries start to hit. I'm definitely not sold on McCluster having the talent to be a breakout player this year unless he gets a ton of touches. The duel eligibility is definitely nice(especially in PPR), but I didn't expect there to actually be much hype and there seems to be quite a bit.

Picked him up for nothing other than our $3 free agent fee in a 10 team league PPR. Didn't really need him, but figured why not. Would only cost me $3. Added him to my RB stable of Jamal Charles, Ryan Mathews, Ahmad Bradshaw, Peyton Hillis, and Mendenhall. At this point I have all the RBs from KC (RTSports has him listed as RB only).

With Mathews and Mendenhall still hurt, Charles a comeback guy and Hillis being only a handcuff, I thought it was worth the nominal cost. Moved Mendy to the IR and added McCluster without having to drop anyone. Thought with a RB core as hurt as that one, it was insurance. Could always start Charles and McCluster in a pinch and hope for the best.

fools gold. when will he ever have a much better game than week 1? 10 targets is unlikely to be topped all season. he probably won't score more than 3 TDs and will rarely put up big yardage numbers. you are basically hoping he catches 5-6 passes so you can get 8-11 points. that's pure flex option only, there has to be upside to spend $20 or more on a free agent

McCluster is a good preemptive pickup. If he has another 8/80 week he's going to be one of the top ww adds and his bid value is likely going to shoot up.

Every week another RB gets injured and when bye weeks hit a guy like this can be very valuable on your bench.

I'd be shocked if he's available in any competitive leagues. If he has a 6/60 week there will be plenty of happy ppr owners.

I just wanna say I was smart enough to draft McCluster in like a dozen PPR fantasy leagues his rookie year. I was also dumb enough to drop in this offseason in about half those leagues. :wall:

We don't do auction values, but I used my waiver claim on him and was able to trade him straight up for Denarius Moore...

In my league we start 2 WRs. I have Fitzgerald, Wayne, Steve Smith 89, Wright and Jennings. Unless injuries hit McCluster will never be used at WR.

I picked him up because my RBs corps is lacking. I may use McCluster at RB once or twice.

About 3/4's of these posts seem to be valuing McCluster as a RB.
yep, thats what makes him so interesting. I agree that he probably won't be anything more than a flex type player when compared to other WR's, but the fact that you can plug him in as a RB if you're in a bind bumps his value quite a bit...

McCluster played 82.6%.

I didn't watch the game, was this just because the Chiefs got down or is he going to play a high amount of snaps every week?
