I thought last week with a week to rest his injuries and week of learning the offense more that he would do great. Then of course he got banged up again. I still think he will get better as the year goes on but i'm troubled by Williams production the last few weeks. Of course it is Roy Williams so that could change. In a 10 team I don't know if i'd grab him if there are better options but in a 12 team or any keeper league I would.Has Dez Bryant value dropped so low due to all his injuries that he belongs in waiver wire now?he was just dropped in my 10 team league, and I am dont think I am going to pick him up... Roy Williams is the #2 guy there now... how do you guys see him in the weeks forward?
Nice analogy..........pretty spot on (to this point).Bryant is like fine china. It looks great, but if you use it, it might get all chipped up. It's pretty, looks impressive, but it's very fragile. Not something you want to use every Sunday.
His season hasn't been disappointing as much as the expectations for his production this season have been unreasonable.
China is actually one of the stronger forms of dinnerware and is much more durable than most of the crap we use on a daily basis. What you meant to say was Dez is like cheap pottery with a nice glaze finish. Only he's not.I'm hungry.Bryant is like fine china. It looks great, but if you use it, it might get all chipped up. What is the warrior mentality? And what, if not that, does Bryant have?I heard Kellen Winslow is a soldier. Is this comparable?Everyone knew Mike Williams was going to be better out of the gate. Bryant is pretty, and gets hurt alot. He isn't a warrior and doesn't have that mentality.
A soldier is a much more evolved warrior. I prefer warriors. Warrior Mentality: You need to be willing to beat your opponent with a wooden club. This is a literal, not a metaforical requirement. Mike Williams in his freshman year at Syracuse beat someone with a wooden club. These are the types of football players I look for. What is the warrior mentality? Well then let's hope Winslow rubs off a bit on the kid and evolves him up a bit; wouldn't want him to catch flak from the league for his version of clubbing. Not for nothing, but maybe players who go into situations where there are a couple of talents like Austin and Witten to contend with (and apparently Roy Williams this year) - to say nothing of the three RB's who are talented in their own right - are just more likely to take a back seat than on a team like the Buccaneers. It's a bit silly to compare the two situations really, seeing as they are nothing but dissimilar.ETA: Isn't the warrior hurt and questionable this week?A soldier is a much more evolved warrior. I'd say they are pretty similar. agree. Hard to be disappointed with a rookie who has been nicked up and plays on a team that's been losing, and has had poor play calling.FF over-reactionHis season hasn't been disappointing as much as the expectations for his production this season have been unreasonable.

Um...no. Corningware Corelle is like Jerry Rice. It doesn't break no matter what you do to it. It isn't fancy, but it'll last forever no matter how much you use it. You can nuke it, drop it, throw it, step on it or freeze it. It still comes back for the next entree. It's duarble and versatile. It doesn't have any gold plating. It doesn't have any pretense. It just does it's job. OK, joking aside, I find both Bryant and Crabtree to be disappointing players, and both might be head cases. They haven't done anything yet and they are already prima donna's. Jerry Jones said he didn't want to miss out on the next Moss... well Jerry, you just might have gotten your wish.China is actually one of the stronger forms of dinnerware and is much more durable than most of the crap we use on a daily basis. So what you are saying is that drafting Bryant was just a ploy to motivate Roy? Tatum Bell must be feeling left out suddenly ....Best thing about Bryant is that he has motivated Roy Williams to a new level of play![]()
I don't disagree with you about Crabtree, but I don't see many similarities between the two. By all accounts Dez came in and worked his butt off in OTA's and training camp. Youtube is full of videos of this. I'm not certain what Crabtree was doing, other than ticking off his teammates. Further, Dez looks the part of the stud WR; Crabtree isn't passing the eyeball test just yet, even with the nice game last weekend.Give it time.Rovers said:Um...no. Depends on how many you can roster but I could definately see Bryant on the waiver wire in a 10 teamer, especially if it's a start 2 Wr league. I've felt like I've been on this from the beginning, he's not startable and won't be this year unless Austin gets hurt. Bryant is talented but I don't see the timing there witb Romo. He just isn't consistent enough to start.Has Dez Bryant value dropped so low due to all his injuries that he belongs in waiver wire now?he was just dropped in my 10 team league, and I am dont think I am going to pick him up... That's a good trade. I think there are a couple different conversations going on. Certainly in dynasty leagues Dez will be a solid player. This year though I think he'll be too inconsistant to count on week after week.I never draft a rookie WR with the expectation that he is going to help my team in the first year. I try to plan for a 3 year plan. I just traded my first round pick next year with is currently the 12th pick for Dez.
I dont know week to week what will happen either. But I also have a feeling maybe he is just now finally getting healthy.Byes and whatnot he gets the start for me vs Jax this week.Dez scored three touchdowns Monday night, and looked very good doing it. Who knows how his numbers will look for the rest of this year with Kitna at the helm, but Bryant dynasty owners have to feel reassured by what we saw last night.
R you thinking about picking him up now?Has Dez Bryant value dropped so low due to all his injuries that he belongs in waiver wire now?he was just dropped in my 10 team league, and I am dont think I am going to pick him up... It's pretty obvious who Kitna has been throwing to in practice. he certainly seemed to be locked on to Dez last night. This happens all the time.I'm surprised THEFANTASYKING missed this.Maybe he just needed the QB switch
Good point... maybe Miles Austin will be the odd-man-out.Wait a sec. Although Kitna did lock in on Dez last night. What about the Kitna to Roy days in Detroit?
hmm... cant seem to find any game tape on this "denarious" character...The argument seems to be: Kitna found Dez a lot in this first game together, so expect Dez to be the favored target going forward. We certainly saw that with Bradford and Clayton, but we didn't see Denarious Alexander continue his connection with Bradford in his second week. So, how often do these early QB-WR connections continue? Was last week an anomoly or can we expect Dez to lead Dallas' receiving corps going forward? THis would make an interesting statistical study.I would guess that there is some truth to it--but less than we might expect.
Bradford was awful last week. Only 115 yards or something like that. I wouldn't put that on Danario or their chemistry. Dez has been coming on for a while, but I don't expect him to eclipse Austin in targets or production. That is silly to expect. The argument seems to be: Kitna found Dez a lot in this first game together, so expect Dez to be the favored target going forward. i would bet you anything Austin outscores Dez from here on out. You are tripping if you think Dez is going to outproduce Austin this year.Dez should battle miles for wr 1 goin forward from here on out.... it is obvious he was not healthy and didn't even play in preseason on top of the fact he is just a rookie... But in that MNF game he clearly looked like an insane talent who should def be getting targeted 10 plus times and I love them screens and bubble slants... right of the hike i would throw the ball out to dez because he is deadly in space after the catch... looks like kitna knows who to get the ball to.... Austin had the dropsies also which hurt... dropped a td and a first down
