DHB - Week 6 vs Cle (1 Viewer)

For the first time in his NFL career, he's strung together two good weeks . . .

will he make it three??

I am starting him - anyone else??

Also - who is Haden covering??

Due to byes and injuries, and his numbers the past two weeks, I'm probably starting him this week over the likes of Manningham, D. Nelson, and Hines Ward. Honestly, I was excited to get him in this week's waivers.

My wife grew up in the east bay area and has always been a Raider fan, so we watch Raider games. The last few weeks, I've seen a much different looking DHB compared to the previous seasons. He's fighting for the ball. He's coming back to the ball. He's making yards after contact. He's aware of the sideline. His routes are crisper. He's grabbing the ball instead of it getting into his body. His routes are much more than just "run deep".

His physical tools have never been in doubt - blazing speed. It looks to me like he's "getting it" as far as the rest of the skills go, and he's getting the targets/opportunities.

As a bye week or injury filler, I think you could do a lot worse.

if Hayden was healthy and starting, then DHB would be a bench, imo. However, if no hayden, then bombs away.

For the rest of the year he will be a boom/bust wr#3. Not bad, since a lot of number 3 suck anyhow.

I'm starting him, he has 11 receptions for 214 yards in his last two games. In my league he has been good for 18 and 22 points the last two weeks. Perhaps something has finally clicked with him?

Oakland WRs seem to be the poster boys for inconsistency. They're all a gamble week to week.
But dhb has been decent from coming back from injury, he has been for at least 3 weeks the most consistent. If haden is playing he is a sit. If out then i might roll w him.

Putting aside all fantasy numbers crunching, if you watched his last two games what did you see?

I saw a guy that at least appears to have figured it out. His cuts were a little crisper, his intensity higher, and he played almost angry. The "chip on his shoulder" cliche would apply. I understand that the Raiders don't like to throw the ball much and that there are many options at WR, but for a week 6 waiver wire guy I like the upside.

now that my waivers have been processed, i'll say i totally agree with this. as a raiders fan, watching the games with my FF leaguemates, it was difficult to keep those thoughts to myself. he looks completely different. prior to this year, i could count on one hand how many out/corner routes he caught passes on in the last two years.

would be great if he keeps it up. he has the physical tools to be a very special receiver in this league.

Looking good

Roto:

Beat writer Steve Doerschuk expects Browns CB Joe Haden (knee) to miss this week's game against the Raiders.Haden missed practice again on Thursday after spraining his knee the week before the bye. He had been flirting with "shutdown" status before the injury, so his absence is good news for the Raiders' wide receiver teases. Dimitri Patterson is expected to start in Haden's spot with rookie Buster Skrine as the third corner.

I agree, that what i see out of DHB last few weeks is different. Hope it sticks as I snagged him off waivers last week and will start him this week with Bowe on bye and Britt on IR.

Picked up DHB a few weeks ago.. Britt went down and stared DHB last week.. and will start him this as well.. heck hes my wr3 going forward.. D'OH!!!

Debating on DHB and Branch. Staff rankings say go Branch easily and the wisdom of the crowds leans DHB. Gotta wonder if staff rankings get updated as the Joe Haden playing situation becomes clearer in the coming days.

if you are just using him as a WR3, then I think he's a decent play w/o Haden in the game . . .I'm starting him . . .

Calvin, DHB and David Nelson for me this week.

Bowe on bye and Andre Johnson on the IR.

For those that care.... Many do. Most don't.
