These are really nice - especially the Oaks one.

Like the Oaks and Mardi Gras ones.
great pics. Like the grave and oaks pictures.
Thanks. I agree with the lava pool picture. I was standing on wet lava rock that waves were coming onto and was concentrating on not killing myself more than the picture.I love your depth of field in the fence pictureI think the lava pool would have been a lot stronger if you would have gotten lower to the ground, even laying down to give you that storytelling effect. I may have also stepped up a bit more to isolate the rock in the middle a bit moreHeres a few from a recent trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. Any comments are welcome.

great shots. 4th one is prolly my favorite. If the first one had just a little more land and less sky, it would have been the best IMO. It took awhile for my eyes to spot the barn.snogger said:After the storms pasted the Sun came out and Mother Nature showed us the light:

I would say the color is better, much better in fact. The dense tree background is very close in b/w to the chimney and the whole thing is a bit mushy, not enough contrast. In the color version, the red chimney really pops and brings out the feel of something manmade in the middle of the woods and is a prominent remnant that the forest hasn't reclaimed. The B&W looks like it would be the best to represent that shot..... I'd probably try to "darken" it a bit.. Also, it would probably work better if it was off center..Here they areThe Recession has hit some harder then othersI have a great idea for a shot. I drove by it this morning. Im hoping I can get out when I get home today and shoot it. If I do, I will post it
Thought it might make a stronger statement in Black and White

Like this one..
agreed. Frankly, I didn't even want the ducks in the shot, but that's the way it goes sometimes.snogger said:Like this one.. :whoosh: A vertical shot might have been better so you could capture a little more water before the ducks and more sky.ODoyleRules said:
So it merges into 1 picture for a second and then goes back to 2.Am I doing it right?Anyone familiar with cross eye 3D photography
Not an easy technique to view, but really cool once you figure it out. How to view.
This guy has a whole bunch of them on his Flickr page.
Once you figure out the viewing technique you should be able to lock into one 3D picture in the middle. So you'll actually be seeing 3 images. When I first started trying to figure out how to train my eyes to see it, it helped to use a pen. Put the pen in between the pictures close to the screen and then move the pen closer to your nose. Keep your eyes focused on the pen and you will see the third image form behind the pen. The tricky part is to then move your focus from the pen to the picture. So it merges into 1 picture for a second and then goes back to 2.Am I doing it right?Anyone familiar with cross eye 3D photography

I wish I could take credit for these, but a friend sent them to me and I thought I'd share them. What amazes me is that she'll only take one shot of a scene and it comes out great.

I'm loving the new interface. I have to hand it to Flickr. They don't get complacent; every redesign includes some nice improvements.BTW.. If you have a Flickr account you can preview the upcoming changes..

I do. I was noticing this earlier on someone else's photo: you can do a quick map zoom just by mousing over the map and then mousing onto the dot.Hey.. If you are still viewing..
