Dizon to get "a lot" more snaps in week 2 (1 Viewer)

Lions MLB Jordon Dizon is going to see a lot more snaps this week. I really don't know how this will play out, but my gut says Dizon will start after the bye if he plays halfway decent. I guess Marinelli finally realizes he has nothing to lose by letting Dizon play and dealing with the mistakes that he, as a rookie, will make. Lenon surely was not the answer. If you have roster room, it may not be a bad idea to grab Dizon now and see what happens.

Marinelli did say that rookie second-round pick Jordon Dizon would get a lot more snaps at middle linebacker in a rotation with starter Paris Lenon (Dizon had 14 snaps against the Falcons). Marinelli said Lenon would not be moved to strong side linebacker when Dizon entered the game.

We had a discussion about this last night while recording the podcast. Lenon did not look good at all last week and we speculated that Dizon's timetable was likely to be seriously accelerated. This should play out nicely for those who were patient with Dizon and not so well for those anxiously awaiting to snap him up if/when he was dropped by a not-so-patient owner.

LOL, that going to help their run defense greatly. Good news is that the coaching staff finally decided to give Bodden the starting job. Might have to do with the fact that Fisher gave up a TD on the first pass thrown for the 2008-2009 season.

Interesting. Any word on OLB Ernie Simms? He left the game in the second quarter on Sunday. Evidently they carted him off the field just before halftime.

Post-game ankle xrays negative and he was expected to be fine. Haven't seen the official injury report yet, but I think if he missed practice it would have been newsworthy enough to get tacked on the changes in the defensive lineup stories. He's probably practicing but may see some decrease in his production since much of his game is speed and range dependent.

Given how horrible the Lions are, if Dizon earns the starting job he should get plenty of opportunities for tackles. Detroit will be playing from behind most games, leaving other teams to pound the ball to kill clock.

Not in on a single defensive snap. Now i know the Lions defense was playing great giving up 450 yards but you'd think he might see the field once or twice.
