branch puts up 4-61-1

DJ Hackett - 4-58

Jackson - 5-36

Of course, this is with Seneca Wallace in, vs the (albeit possibly overrated) #1 pass D, and in a downpour/heavy winds.

So, should anyone be concerned?

Of course you'd rather have Hasselbeck in, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Wallace and their ability to still throw the ball.

I think he's still a great play in games where they'll need to throw the ball. Unfortunately, they didn't need to last night.

Also, Jackson had the same number of targets.

Sounds like you've already answered your own question.

Last night was a tough game to pass in given the weather coupled with no need to air it out. He did fine last week w/ Seneca and in different conditions he will continue to do just fine IMO. Hass's return should help, but I also think Wallace leans on the vet a bit. In short, he had a down game. Bound to happen. But, I'm not worried for the future w/ him.

I would be concerned with the drops...
:goodposting: He's had some drops that were tough catches, but he's supposed to be elite and they make those catches. He also has had some drops that should've been gimmes. Seems like he's trying real hard to let Branch beat him out for WR1.

I have him in one league and was playing against him in another league.

The one league where I had him I had already wrapped up.

The one I was playing against him I was up seven points and playing Stevens...

So this was the best of both worlds. :banned:

But I wouldn't worry about it too much. I mean...Seneca only threw for 176 yards. In the second half, he barely threw for any.

Just the flow of the game, really.

sure, everyone drops a few now and again...I guess DJax was just having a bad game. I don't watch the Hawks much, and just remember that sticking out to me. Of course none were on the level of the Stevens drop....

There's nothing to worry about. The weather was absolutely terrible, and the Seahawks offense was playing not to lose.

They'll have to air it out to beat the Rams next week.

Targets last 3 weeks have been:

Djax - 14, 9, 7

Branch - 8, 6, 7

Points last 3 weeks have been:

DJax - 21, 12, 3

Branch - 6, 4, 12

So Branch has one week more productive than top-10 WR Jackson (with the same targets) and we should be concerned?

:goodposting: Djax was doubted by many in preseason as not ready to come back and not going to produce like the old DJax, but he has shown up and proven himself again this season. Since Branch's arrival he has still put up great numbers. I dont recall any easy catches he dropped last night. It was windy and raining so give him a bit of a break even if he did have 1 or 2 drops, and stop freaking out over 1 game against a good pass D in lousy weather. All of these players have more drops than DJax this seasonReggie Brown PHI Steve Smith CAR Reggie Williams JAC Troy Williamson MIN Bubba Franks GB Andre Johnson HOU Randy Moss OAK Terrell Owens DAL Brian Westbrook PHI Donald Driver GB Joey Galloway TB Benjamin Watson NE Joe Horn

Jackson dropped two very catchable balls last night, but Branch also dropped an easy one.

In the two and a half games Wallace has been in, Jackson has dropped 6 balls that I can remember, including one that he tipped up in the air for an interception. He may just not be used to the way Wallace throws in games. The Seattle receivers say he throws harder. It may just be a timing thing. Either way, I wouldn't worry too much.

For some reason, I just can't get the image of Owens streaking down the field with the ball hitting him right in the hands for the game winning touchdown, only to drop it, out of my head. Is that what you mean by 'elite'?

Thanks for the update.

Anybody concerned about DJax this week likely won't be next week. Here's what he's done against the Rams:

2006

4-94-1

2004

5-91-1

3-33-0

2003

2-50-1

6-99-1

2002

4-71-1

DJack has been dropping balls for the last three years - fortunatley he catches a lot more than he drops and he knows what to do when he does catch it. So to say you are concerned with the drops means that you haven't paid attention to DJack.

Of course there are going to be drops even by the best, no one is going to make every snigle catch, but for DJax it's been a long term problem. I watch all the Seahawks games and regardless of who else has more drops, HE drops a lot of important catches in general, tough and easy. A few big drops aren't a problem but when there's a pattern then there's a problem. For as many big plays he makes, he has a problem with drops. And as for TO, he's having the worst drops of his career right now and it's tarnishing his image as elite as well. He got points again for the Cowboys but in important plays he's literally dropping the ball (see allso 4th & 1) and causing the team harm.
