Do the Patriots have a chance for a bye week? (1 Viewer)

The only way is to have both Baltimore and Indy loses next week and Pats win - as Ravens would simply have a better record or they lose the h2h tiebreaker to Indy otherwise.

The question is... given a win and those two losses by Colts and Ravens, do the Pats get a bye?

Two clubs have 12 wins. The Patriots would have at most 12 wins. The Patriots will need to win some sort of tiebreaker to get a bye. The Patriots did not play the Chargers nor Ravens. The Patriots lost to the Colts. The Patriots have clinched a worse AFC record than the Chargers and the Ravens. The Patriots could tie the Colts AFC record, but that tiebreaker would never be put into play because of the head-to-head loss.

Patriots cannot clinch a bye.

The Chargers have clinched a bye. The Ravens or Colts will get the other bye.

edit: updated Chargers status.

The Patriots or the Colts will be the #4 seed. That much we know. The #4 seed is clearer than the #3 seed of all things.

Bolts have clinched a bye with Colts loss - so BAL and IND are first in line. If both lose next week and NEP beats TEN it will be between NEP and BAL.

Ok I see it now yes. The Colts just haven't clinched HFA. A tiebreaker between the Patriots and Ravens comes down to AFC record. The Ravens have a better AFC record clinched so they win that tiebreaker.

He means the Ravens or the Chargers will get HFA. If the Ravens get HFA, and it comes down to a tie for the #2 seed between the Chargers and Colts, the Chargers win due to superior AFC record. So the Chargers have clinched a bye.

So does Brady / Dillon et al take off the second half this week?

Hate to say it but I don't think the Patriots are going anywhere this season.
