Do you avoid players in meaningless games? (1 Viewer)

I'm wondering how much to consider fading players in meaningless games. How much are you factoring this into your decisions? I'd love to hear all your thoughts.

In cash games you should avoid them since you'll never know when they'll be taking the bench. However in some cases coaches will have 1st string players play the entire game (of meaningless games) as they are entering the off season thinking their job is on the line and want to go out strong.

I remember this game last year in week 17:

Meaningless game for the Jets, but Geno Smith threw for 358yds and 3TD's, and Decker had 221 receiving yds and 1 TD. Everyone was like 'what the heck just happened'?! Of course, the GPP winner that week had Decker (highest scoring WR that week at 33.1pts) on his team who nobody thought would play.

I will be aiming for guys with a lot on the line, like Roth/Brown as a stack.

I haven't built lineups yet but I just know I'll have to pick one or two with nothing to play for. Getting those right will likely be the difference maker.

Also, keep your ears open for any young buck getting a shot to show what they've got. Seems like a few out of it teams will run out someone new to evaluate them sometimes.
