Do You Forsee a 2nd American Civil War? (1 Viewer)

I know, it sounds crazy. It's a question, not a conclusion. Point being, this country is torn politically. Very much so.

Is there a tipping point?

Thoughts?

I don't see this country lasting another 100 years, but not sure if it will be due to a civil war, per se.

No, I feel like our poitical affiliations are separated between big cities and rural areas. Not so much the North and South.

If there is a civil war it won't be purely geography. I don't know if it would be rural vs urban either but possibilities include rich vs poor, individual rights vs "what's best for everyone", or something like that.

People these days can't seem to handle some stranger saying something vaguely offensive on Twitter without having a meltdown. You think that it's remotely possible that people like pick up guns and stuff and go outside and risk getting hurt and stuff? For political reasons? I don't think you're living in the same world I am.

I mean, don't get me wrong, there'd be some awesome self-potential, but no, I don't see a war happening, no.

if it happens, most likely is haves vs. have nots
Who's side would you be on? Hypothetically. ;)
Have nots. I'll never abandon my kids.
Good answer. You are, however, dodging the question...maybe...dunno.

Nope. Income inequality would be the cause, but our welfare system gives enough benefits to the bottom 20%. I dont see them taking up arms when they can still get Taco Bell and weed.

I could have given a shorter answer, but not a more direct one.

Excellent point! That being said, what happens when the government runs out of money? For those in their 30s and 40s: Are you financially stable enough to forgo the end of Social Security? Pitchfork time, or can you roll with that?

Not trying to start an argument. I usually lose. Ask squistion.

If only the government could create money out of thin air.

How would joining a civil war help my financial situation?

I don't think there would necessarily be a war but I could see a section of the country secede from the Union.

Printing money out of thin air and then charging interest on it. Seems odd to me.

I am not arguing that it would.

Probably not an organized war, but I could see the country breaking up into 4 or 5 smaller countries.
