My car - 2000 Jeep Cherokee - ~150k miles. Tough to give that up as a commuter that goes back and forth to work 16 miles/day. Paid off in 2005
Wife's car - 2007 Nissan Murano - ~80k miles. I have spent more on this car in the past year, around $2500, than I have spent on my Cherokee in 16 years. Paid off in 2012 so it's still worth it pending any further repairs.
Will probably look at leasing something newer this summer to have something that is more reliable.
On a related note, I worked with the guy that started Leaseguide.com about 15 years or so ago. It was a hobby for him at the time but I think he retired. I wonder if he makes any money off of it now. There doesn't appear to be any advertising on it or anything to purchase.
(edit - Check that, I saw that you could buy the lease kit for $19.95. Worth it?)
