Does anyone think Gruden will not go back to coaching any time soon? (1 Viewer)

It's clear that not only does he have a great personna for TV, but he's brought new relevance to the role as sports TV personality.

His series leading up to the draft have been nothing short of ground breaking to the point where it's been said that he exposed character flaws in Jimmy Clausen during film review that might affect his draft stock (as such, this might be a one and done series).

Does he ham it up a bit? Sure...but I feel like when I'm listening to him that he's providing me with how a coach in todays NFL is interpreting the game or interpreting talent and doing it in an entertaining way. Interestingly, I like Billick as well in this capacity, but his delivery is much more matter of fact and as such, probably not capable of truly making him into a sports media star.

But Gruden seems well on his way and as such, do you think he might forego coaching opportunities in the future to continue along this track. Next 5 years? Next 10 years? Next Madden (never goes back)?

I think he'll be offered a coaching gig next season, and it'll be entirely up to him. He's succeeded as an announcer, so he can choose to stay on that path if he likes. My gut tells me he wants to get back to coaching; he's got that fire burning in him.
