Does Pettigout have another back injury? (1 Viewer)

I keep hear rumor after rumor that Pettigout has gotten another back injury, but the team has told him to keep it from the press. Homers, is there any legitimacy to this?

If this is true (and I have every reason to believe Chris), I wonder what comments will come out of the Giants front office

he always had a sore back with the Giants

Hard to tell if it's just a vet taking a break or a genuine injury this time of year

The Giants made their statement on this subject by cutting him when they did.

Chris - This is a chronic problem with him. These spasm flare up without warning. It's not a good sign that it's happened this early before the real contact has even started.

The Giants didn't feel like they could rely on his health. That's why they got rid of him.

In my opinion, if healthy yes. I think he's an average LT, but that was better than what they had.

Any :homer: 's want to let us in on who took over the LT spot while he was out?

Yeah, I heard the same thing. It was the fact that they were trying to hide it that worried me than anything.

If it's just the spasms they do seem to subside with rest. The problem comes when he has one of these episodes the morning of a game and the line has to be reshuffled at the last minute...

I haven't heard who took over in practice, but Anthony Davis is the backup LT and 06 starter. The latest from buccaneers.com:"Petitgout, the former Giant signed during the offseason to man the left tackle spot, returned to practice on Saturday too after missing most of the week. Petitgout didn't have complete clearance yet, but he soon will, and the team won't take it easy on him.“When he goes, there will be contact," said Gruden. "You can’t limit contact with a tackle. You can limit contact with a quarterback or a kicker but not a left tackle. He’ll be involved in contact drills. Today he got back into the individual portion of practice, group-type things, and he’ll get into the full-team stuff again tomorrow.”
