Does your boss allow you to take naps or leave work early? (1 Viewer)

What’s the protocol of taking a nap at work or leaving work to go exercise? How would your boss react?

I have this set-up under my desk. If I pull the chair in he has no idea I'm napping. Works great.

I come and go as I please, in fact I’m at the gym right now. I’m heading from here to home where I will work the rest of the day. I won’t take a nap but will have sex  this afternoon.

Now, I’m in sales and have hit above my quota every year under my boss plus it helps he sits 75 miles away. I also did some work over this weekend and was online working this morning at 6:15.

I will leave work to go to the gym 3-4 times a week.  might take 50 minutes that I'm gone total.  I count it as my lunch hour and then eat at my desk while working.  I've also had days where I'll leave 15 minutes early to get to the gym before rush hour.  never had an issue.

I oversee a department and I don't have issues with my employees coming in a little late or leaving early once in a while.  if their work is getting done, getting done on time, and getting done correctly, I have no issues.  my employees love me and not surprisingly, they work hard when here and make sure what they do is done correctly.

no naps at work however.  we do have one employee in another dept who I've heard will sometimes fall asleep at his desk.  He's an older gent who the company is just waiting to retire.

I would assume sleeping is off limits unless you are on your break or lunch. As Jomar said, people can do whatever they want on their lunch hour. Not sure of the specifics of "leave work early". I get paid salary and my boss isnt a stickler for a minute by minute accounting of time. If I need to take off an hour early for something, it isnt a big deal. If i constantly need to leave early, i suppose I would need to start earlier or make some other arrangements.

I'm a federal employee, so, as a rule, leaving early doesn't happen.  But people sneak out all the time.  You'll have the occasional boss that is a stickler.

When I still worked at the facility I would take naps during my breaks, no problem.  Now that I work from home ... um, I never take naps.
