What's going on today with a Carly Irsay, on the sidelines with a call sheet and headset...?

This was a serious inquiry, btw, and based on how it was related to me, I'm very surprised no one is talking about it here in the Thread.

My HS partner was telling me that while I was in church this AM, and he was monitoring social media accts, etc. for news, the Colts were being absolutely ridiculed because this Carly Irsay (Ownership person) was on the sidelines with a copy of Steichen's play call sheet and a headset, and that she had made it clear to management, coaches, players and media that she needed to evaluate the organization from top to bottom, and that included gameday, in-game, management of the Team, as part of her process.

Can anyone who knows anything about this, please comment? TIA.

Damn, I have nothing for you and if that is true it sounds like a looming disaster. Those actions point nowhere positive.

I rarely get to watch either of these teams. Is MIA this bad? Is IND better than I thought? Didn’t Miami score like 500 points two years ago?
Both. Tua needs a good oline and running game to excel. See Alabama and Miami in 2022 & 2023. Miami's oline is a work in progress, 2nd year LT, rookie LG, RG coming off achilles now out with a pectoral injury.

Ind defense got better with a couple of additions and new d-coordinator, Lou Anarumo.

I didn't realize earlier that this Colts d coordinator came from Cinci. Their defense was atrocious.

He’s actually a really good coordinator who had a bad defense playing well in several key playoff games. Bengals personnel was that bad outside of Hendrickson. He’ll do well in Indy.

That said, Phil’s look atrocious.

The Miami Dolphins are in the Tua business long-term.

The Fins and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa agreed to a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with $167.1 million guaranteed, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported on Friday, per sources informed of the deal. Miami announced the deal on Sunday morning.

The $53.1 million-per-year new-money extension is the second-largest four-year agreement in NFL history, coming in a shade over Jared Goff's $53 million pact and just behind the $55 million per year on Jordan Love's four-year contract and Joe Burrow's and Trevor Lawrence's five-year contracts.

Per Rapoport, the deal includes incentives based on playoff wins and performance that can take his pay up to $55.35 million per year, for what would be a maximum total value of $221.4 million.
Tagovailoa partially participated in the first couple of days of training camp but was full-bore during Friday's session, indicating negotiations were on the move.

I have no idea why anyone thinks this guy is even a good coordinator. He's never even held that title. He's never had any success against a good team. Just a bunch of running up the score against bad teams.
He made both Tyreek and Tua MVP candidates. Given Tua's limitations, that's an accomplishment. The last 2 years, they've had major oline deficiencies.

Yeah, against bad teams. Just look at how they performed against the better teams on their schedule. There's a significant drop off in performance. McDanields is 3-14 against teams with a winning record. And then once teams figured out to just play cover 2 and drop the lbs to take away the middle, there's been no answer.

The real killer for them that season was the defensive injuries/issues. Although I agree that better teams and later all teams basically figured out his script. He has shown no ability to adapt.

Is that McDaniel, or Tua's limitations?
Both totally both and both gotta go and watch….both will be gone this time next year. Same with Grier.

Coach will go first or with
GM at the same time.

New regime will cut Tua and eat 55 million over two years.

Trade Tyreek…..now.

Trade Waddle if even possible. He is a piece of glass.

There is no apologizing with this team guys….we are way past that. Incompetence from the top to the bottom.

I think its a combination of both. Neither are very good. Good coordinators at least occassionally can scheme good performances when you just have an average QB. I rarely see any in game adjustments by mcdaniels. He has a tendency to get way too pass happy with his play calling. He's just infatuated by those in breaking routes that just aren't there anymore. I think everyone just assumes that he's a great coordinator b/c we get enamored by stats but the fact is that he just ran up the score against inferior competition.

They beat up on crappy teams. Offense was never as good as the stats indicated. Teams have now figured out how to play them.
And their OL may be the worst in the league.
yep. and their QB has concussion issues.

I am not sure why they didnt make every effort to upgrade this line for him.

prolonging his career should be a top priority. and if the career ends prematurely anyway, at least the rookie they draft next year will have a line that isnt a dogs breakfast.

either scenario, upgrading the line is helpful.

With all the dead money between moving Tua, Reek and hopefully Waddle, this team is gonna be really bad for at least 3 years. Just atrocious roster management from Grier. Guy had everything to work with and created this mess.

Tua is owed Nothing after '26
Also we were told the Phins could cut him next summer post June 1st and the dead cap spread over a couple seasons and get out of this mess

Tua was not sharp today, 3 turnovers is inexcusable
I stil want the fans to aim their hatred at the owner Stephen Ross, next Chris Grier
The Dolphins never get their #1 target for head coach, Coach M&M was like 4th, 5th on the list for interviews
Peyton Manning laughed at Miami when they wanted to sign him when he left Indy, would not meet with the owner F2F

Ross tried to interview Watson when Tua was only in his 2nd season
This team is completely mismanaged

It will be including this season 3 brutal rough years….draft well and everything can change.

A complete reset yet again is needed with an entirely new infrastructure.

Tear it all down rip the band aid off…..I mean I have been a fan for 50 years now….what’s another 5 years.

Flores laid down the law when he entered the building, wouldn't put up with anyone who wasn't doing what they were told.
He went after one of the WRs that was being outspoken politically at the NFL and some social issues at the time, he played some music at practice to let people know who was in charge
I know he didn't make the Playoffs but he was 10-7/9-8 last two seasons with a rebuild model and they fired him

Because of Ross' ego which is proven when the NFL dropped the hammer on him and he was suspended plus cost the team 1st round and 3rd round pick

He wanted Herbert.

I can't really add anything except to confirm what you have heard. A month or two ago, I read a similar report as to what her intentions were.

There was an article I found about her in Yahoo! with a picture of her on the sidelines with a headset on.

She’s been doing it apparently for a long time, according to a Reddit user. 2016! The Yahoo article implies it has been since 2012 and Chuck Pagano. Wild. That still doesn’t sound great to me.

So how did Jeff Saturday happen?
