Dominic Rhodes - Dynasty "buy low"? (1 Viewer)

Rhodes was brought in by the Raiders (2yrs/$7mil) to compete with Jordan. Jordan is due a big roster bonus after this year, meaning that 2007 could definitely be his last in Oakland. Michael Bush is still injured and may be put on IR. Rhodes obviously has the suspension looming over his head, but after that, he's probably got a pretty good shot at the starting role. He's currently listed as a co-number 1 back on the depth chart, for instance.

If one assumes that the Raiders are on the rise to being *mediocre* within a year or two, perhaps Rhodes is a good buy-low right now in dynasty leagues?

In redrafts he may have some value if Jordan struggles out of the gate and Bush isn't ready, but little to no dynasty value IMO. I don't think the window is open very long for Rhodes.

I think Rhodes' window is open a bit wider than Jordans'.

I'm trying to buy low on all Raiders. I think next year they'll pull a 49ers from last year as far as the offense starting to click.

Jordan is not a good RB regardless of the team around him.He doesn't have the time to wait out the rebuild. His best days are behind him.RB 4 at the very most.

I have a hard time seeing Rhodes having any success in Oakland at all. He averaged 3.4 YPC in a pretty fantastic situation last year in Indy. Oakland will be much more difficult. He just isn't the same player that he was in 2001 when he looked so good filling in for Edge.

I have a hard time seeing him as more than a backup, no matter where he is, going forward.
