Donald Brown (1 Viewer)

Billy Ball Thorton

Anyone see upside here. He looked like the Colts best RB yesterday seeing his first action of the season. Not sure Addai status and suppose that would hinder/help Brown pending the status.

Just nice to see a little life from this guy

Honestly, I think Delone Carter is the guy here. Carter had already passed Brown on the depth chart. At 0-5, the Colts aren't trying to win now - they'd probably like to take a glimpse into the future and see how Carter handles more of a workload. Brown looked better yesterday, but hasn't looked better than Carter most of the time. We should certainly listen to what the coaching staff has to say, but I would be pretty suprised if Brown gets the starting nod and majority of carries going forward if Addai isn't able to play.

Sounds like a hammy for Addai, which typically means 3-4 weeks. Not sure how the carries will break down between he and Carter, who hasn't exactly been tearing it up himself.

Unless Carter also gets hurt, I think this is about the upside game for Brown this year. I own Brown and Carter in different leagues. I used to be very high on Brown, and that is why I still hold onto him in a couple dynasty leagues. I am a Colts fan and have seen just about every play Brown has played. I was very hopeful after some nice plays his rookie year, but he just hasn't put it all together. His pass blocking still hasn't looked that good. I would prefer to own Carter right now.

I didn't see the game yesterday, so can't comment on how Brown looked.

I just wanted to reply to the post above that commented the 'Colts are 0-5 and aren't trying to win anymore' - don't believe this....every team is trying to win every Sunday - believe that.

If every other Colts RB got hurt and Donald Brown was being backed up by Arena League rejects, he would still a way to be mediocre, even with 80% of the workload.

I can't imagine being so desperate so as to start him. I can't even see the point in rostering him.

12 x 15 PPR redraft, no flex, TE required, start 2 RB & 3 WR

It's not that they aren't trying, it just might be that it isn't their top priority.

I own Addai (my RB4/5 depending upon my mood) & I am making no move to pick up either guy. Brown just sucks & Carter has not impressed me in the least.

I would rather own Carter out of the 3. Addai and Brown are pretty much known quantities. Carter at least has some lottery ticket value.

I have always believed he could be a good, not great, NFL back. My feeling is that the shotgun run offense doesn't favor him. This run out of the single back formation he shows good vision and elusiveness. People are too quick to write players off.

My assessment: in PPR I would rather have Brown, if Addai is out, than Carter. In TD heavy scoring, Carter. I suspect that Brown will take over Addai's role because he is a better receiver and more all around back than Carter. Carter will get short yardage and red zone work. That could change if one or the other starts to outplay the other significantly; then the hot hand will get more carries.
