Donovan McNabb at QB11? (1 Viewer)

I don't generally start these threads, and this is definitely not a knock on FBG.

But am I the only one that expects a good game from McNabb?

DAL has a decent pass defense (#10 in the NFL), but they've faced some bad passing offenses. They did a good job against Chicago, Buffalo and Minnesota. They did a good job against a struggling STL, but a bad job against a pitiful MIA. They got absolutely lit up by the Giants and the Patriots.

McNabb has struggled this year but he's lit up the two worst defenses he's faced (MIN and DET), and looked better of late. His best game last year was vs. DAL.

Seems like he should be a better play than Brees vs. JAX and Favre @ KC, just to mention two higher-ranked players.

he looks a little low, but marginally so to the QBs above him. You could make a case for all the guys around him to move up and down a few places.

McNabb and the Eagles have been pretty good against the Cowboys throughout his career.

His injury was still obviously limiting his play through the first part of the season, but he has been looking progressively better with each game. The Dallas secondary leaves a lot to be desired. It is not going to be hard for the Eagles and McNabb to get pumped up for a Primetime game against their division rival.

I'm a homer, so I'm a little biased here, but I think McNabb will have a pretty good game.

Looks like Dodds is pretty much in line with others' McNabb rankings.

Funny...but that is the choice I have. I am sitting Brees and starting McNabb. McNabb was ranked right up there in the beginning of the week. I cant believe FBG dropped him so low. I think Brees is rated way to high this week. JAX has a tendency to drag out games. Dallas can score quick whick puts McNabb on the field more.

End of the third. 14 for 24 133 yards 1 INT and a fumble......
Ouch.Eagles homer and McNabb owner ducking
Yeah, it's all but over for us here in Philly. This Eagles offense is missing a stud WR. Curtis is a good receiver, and Reggie Brown is an average receiver, but neither are #1 WR's capable of opening things up consistently. The O-Line gave McNabb plenty of time, but they just couldn't get open. And it doesn't help that McNabb is having some terrible games. He's making horrible throws.Thank god for Fantasy Football, because it's not going to be a lot of fun watching the Birds during the second half of this season.

Just finished watching the game (Tivo -- I was at a symphony with my wife). Came here to bump the thread. Not too surprised that I was beaten to it.I guess this is why I pay Joe and not vice versa.McNabb: 27/46 264-1-2Favre: 24/34 360-2-2Brees: 35/49 445-3-0I don't think McNabb played that poorly, but clearly the Eagles passing offense is not clicking to a degree I didn't realize. I fully expected Curtis to have a big game but obviously that didn't happen. :pickle:

those stats do not indicate his play. McNabb is god awful. He couldn't complete a downfield pass for his life last night. Down by 30 and all he does is throw dumpoffs to his boyfriend Westbrook. Are you serious? What a piece of shat! Get freakin Kolb in there.

From what I saw though, it didn't look like Curtis / Brown were getting open deep.

The Eagles rarely used the shotgun when Donovan McNabb took over the starting job in Philadelphia. The shotgun is now used about every other play. It could be because of the knee injury McNabb sustained last year, but it could also be because Kevin Kolb, drafted in the second round last season to be McNabb’s successor, played in a predominantly shotgun offense at Houston. Whatever the reason for the transformation, it does not seem to be working very well for McNabb.

Teams don't usually change the entire offense to suit the backup QB.

that is also true. i guess im venting a little. But some of his passes were just thrown into the ground. It was alomst as if his first looks always went to westy and he didnt even look downfield. arg! frustrating.
