Dontay Moch, Chris Carter and Ozougwu (1 Viewer)

I'm in a dynasty IDP league that has a rule that if you draft a player, you can continue using that player for the rest of his career at the position he was listed as when you drafted him. I think that Moch, Carter and Cheta all fall into this situation as all are currently listed as DLs, but I believe each would be playing as a LB should they take the field. Can anyone confirm how they will be used, and which has the shortest road to being a starter? I think I have them in the order I like, just seeing what others think.

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. I have my league's rookie draft in 5 days. All I have to go on at the moment are rotoworld's depth charts.

They have Moch as the #2 SLB behind only Skuta (who I hear is working out as a FB?), and Chris Carter as the #4 OLB for Pitt.

Moch will be a situational rusher this year, probably from a two point stance. I don't think the Bengals are sure where he fits long term, but he'll probably be a part-time SLB at best.

Carter and Jason Worilds will compete to take over when James Harrison (and eventually Lamarr Woodley) move on. He's very unlikely to see more than special teams duty this year.

Don't know much about Ozougwu other than that he was drafted to compete at OLB and will have depth chart opportunity at some point if he develops.

Thanks for all the hard work you've done and for the answer above! We have a 5 round rookie draft, and "practice squad" spots that don't count against our 31 man roster that I think I may take a chance on one of these guys with.

I would think that Moch has the best short-term value of the group, especially in a big play league. If you can wait out Carter though, he's got some serious upside in a couple of years.

Keep an eye on Cincy's transactions though because they may very well sign another OLB in the next week.

I'm thinking that my only "value" in either is if that happens. If either become a 2 down OLB next year, great! If I have to wait 2-3 years, forget about it as I can only stash them on my practice squad for their rookie years. In 2012, they would have to count against my 31 man roster limit.

lawson's signing makes me think that moch is more of a project. lawson only signed a 1-yr but still. however talented casrter may be, he's playing behind a number of guys. worilds will get a chance before carter.

With a 5 man rookie draft, unless you are in a 32 team league, all these guys are undraftable. I realize their potential, but realize the longshot they are. The only one even worthy of a 5th round pick would be Chris Carter, but even then, I would have to assume Worilds would get the first shot to replace Harrison (so Carter is probably 3 years away at the very earliest). I understand the importance of trying to get a guy listed as a DL that will play LB'er, but these guys have very little shot to pan out. You can do better elsewhere.
