He got knocked out with a concussion last week IIRC. I never feel comfortable starting players coming off concussions but D'Qwell had a huge game the last time he faced the Bengals so I don't know what to expect from him today.
Interesting photo-series showing the two defensive tackle rookies who started in the Bengal game but it gives a great insight into the overall workings of the defense and would give insight for any D'Qwell or James-Michael-Johnson owner.
Last week the Browns played the Dallas Cowboys and the biggest weakness on Dallas is their offensive line. The Browns had gotten DT Phil Taylor back from his pec tear a week before their BYE so he has fresh legs and had already gotten some work so he was ready to have a big game against the Boys. In addition to Taylor the Browns ALSO got back DT Ahtyba Rubin so they were at full-strength on the D-Line for the FIRST TIME this season and they were matched up against the weakest offensive line they would face all year.Basically the D-Line dominated the Dallas offensive line and blew up running plays at the line. They feasted and the linebackers didn't get much accept scraps.Today the Steelers will likely be running a-lot since Ben is out and the weather is cold and windy.Looks like a low-scoring run-heavy matchup.I would imagine D'Qwell will have lots of tackle opportunities today.
Check the box score and you get the clues you are seeking. The Raiders only ran the ball 17 times and passed 54 times.
Armed with that information I would ask you why a middle linebacker didn't rack up high tackle numbers in a game like that where the Raiders were behind and passing to try and catch up and got some garbage time scores?
I would imagine you can draw a conlusion that would anwswer your question.

D'Qwell has been extremely big play dependent this season.
He is only on pace for 60 solo tackles this season and in his last 10 games has 41 solo tackles/0 stuffs/0 sacks/0 int/2 FF/1 FR/2 PD
All of his splash plays in that 10 game span are in 2 of the games.
His low tackles totals the 1st 2 games were masked by 3 sacks/2 int/1 stuff/5 PD/1 TD/1 FR but I explained at that point in the season how fluky those big plays were, especially the 3 sack game.
That fact along with his 4 solos per game in that span have made him more of a boom or bust IDP LB as opposed to the LB1 he was all of last season.
