***DR JENE is pulling a fast one!*** (1 Viewer)

Cecil and Sigmund,

I was listening to the podcast 167a today, and I heard that one of you, forgive me I missed who, is in a league with Dr Jene. Dr Jene said he picked up T Suggs to stash him away as a DL for later in the year. Not sure what your league rules are, but T Suggs is listed as a LB on both NFL.com and on the Ravens site.

I am sure your commissioner would have been all over this one, but just in case, I did not want him to sneak a fast one passed you. =)

He's not pulling a fast one. MFL and other fantasy league sites have him classified as a DE. In those leagues Suggs value is immense.

Ravens activated Terrell Suggs (Achilles) off the PUP list, and he will play on Sunday in Houston.

Suggs is just five and a half months removed from a partially torn Achilles' tendon. It's a surprising development, as many in the football universe thought that the Ravens would hold Suggs out through the team's Week 8 bye. ESPN's Adam Schefter nailed the Suggs news from the jump. Suggs will look to energize a Baltimore pass rush that has recorded just 10 sacks on the season and a defense that just lost Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb for the season. Baltimore cut 2010 second-round pick Sergio Kindle to make room on the 53-man roster.

Great so MFL is out of date. Excellent points. Notice I said, not sure what your league rules are. The leagues I am in use NFL.com as the official source of record for player positions.

I think a lot of sites do not do their diligence when making sure player positions are up-to-date.

MFL isn't out of date. MFL frequently updates player positions many times throughout the offseason, preseason, and occasionally when the season has started. For clarification purposes, Terrell Suggs has eligibility at the DE / OLB position. Because of this it's up to each fantasy site to determine what they'd like to classify him as.Taken From Footballguys.com:
The other issue here is the ever present dilemma of his positional designation. Many league hosting sites designate him an outside linebacker while many other list him as a defensive end. In reality Suggs lines up at both positions with regularity. However, over the past few years he has worked from a defensive end alignment a bit more often. As a defensive end Suggs is year in and year out among the best in the fantasy game. With a linebacker designation his value takes a huge hit in balanced or tackle heavy scoring systems. Determine where he fits in your league then follow his rehab process closely. He could be a great late season addition if all goes well.

MFL uses rotoworld depth charts to figure player designations. Rotoworld lists Suggs as a DE

I'm not smart enough to pull a fast one on anybody.

We've had many discussion on Suggs. For the past few seasons, he's played about 60% of his base defensive snaps as a defensive end, which is what many outlets use as the basis for their depth charts. There's no question that it's a close call, though.

:goodposting: Hey starr####er, notice the bolded above? You certainly don't have to, but in the future you might do some due diligence of your own before questioning that of another...
