Dr. Z's NFL Commentator Rankings (1 Viewer)

The people who got 4 stars are all people who he said arent afraid to tear into the superstars. Than the commentator group that he puts in the immediate tier below is Michaels and Madden.... doesnt seem to consistent. He also rips Jaws really bad, when he is probably one of the best color commentators out there, if not the best.

I concede Zimmerman's knowledge of the game, but his writing has become unbearably crotchety. He dedicates 65% of his regular columns to discussing politics, his wife and wine instead of football. I always hope for his announcer ratings to be insightful, but they usually devolve into his rantings over any use of announcing cliches. This year is no different.

 "Crothety" is an understatement...can't even read his nonsense anymore.Dr Z is a joke if he thinks Jaws is the worst, please.

Z's 5 star team was the team of Jaws, Vermeil, and Nessler.

I think his low rating attests to Jaws having to try and shoehorn analysis within the current circus of MNF.

ESPN will never 'get it'. It has jumped the shark.

Tim Ryan is awesome on Sirius Radio. I don't get to catch a lot of games he calls since I'm a Giants fan and I get to hear Troy and Buck most of the time.

Oh let me rant, did any of you re-watch the Super Bowl yet? I watched it on NFL Replay last night on the NFLN, and Buck had the worst call on that whole drive by Eli Manning to win the game. He sounded bored and distracted. Even on the best play in Super Bowl history (or one of the best) he barely called it.

Meh.

Edit:

On Jaws, he thinks he's the worst because of who he's doing the game with and because the production value of the show is awful as well. He thinks Jaws is the awesome when it comes to football analysis.

I've always liked the Johnson/Tasker combo. The Moose/Goose combo was pretty good when Stockton was the play-by-play guy, I didn't catch them much this year, but was Albert that bad?

Jaws the worst? Ha
The team is the worst. But, Im in the minority on this board...its not all Tony K that is sucking on MNF...Jaws simply has not been that good.He was great in that opening monday night game when they had the 2 broadcasts last year or whatever. But I just don't like how he has evolved on MNF and agree completely with Z on that one.

I noticed that about Buck during the big play. After I stopped cheering I thought(I wish Gus Johnson were calling this game)
