Draft Dominator question (1 Viewer)

Do I need to download the latest version of Draft Dominator (I think it's on version 7.0e now), or can I just hit File/Get Latest Projections? I'm running version 7.0a, and I guess my question is this: is the only difference between versions the projections, or is something in the program code different enough that I need to download it again?

On the download page they list the differences between the versions. There are some software changes, some bug fixes, and some nice things fixed (like memo's field being expanded). I'd download the new one, but you don't need too.

Ish

Unless you're using your own projections in the DD, you should download the new one. In addition to the enhancements/fixes, the ADPs are also updated, and I find this helpful in seeing what the competition might draft.

Also, there is a problem with just getting new projections. I found (as did others) that you'll get a mess. Some players will be listed twice; once with the new projections and no ADP number, and again with the ADP number and zero as their projection. I'm in the middle of a draft and was using version d and tried to do this last night. Ugh. I'm sure glad the new version e came out this morning.

It's no big deal to download, and all your setups remain. No having to redo anything.

By the way, there are at least a couple of players whose DD projections don't match Dodds' projections. It was wrong in version d and is still wrong. Just go into the setup and fix them. It automatically saves them when you close the window by hitting OK. The players I know about are Michael Clayton and Steve McNair. There may be others, but those are the ones I came across.

Also, if you didn't know, there is a forum for all the application threads where you can read FAQs and also view previous questions and answers. If you still have questions of your own, Bruce Henderson does a nice job of keeping up with answering them.

warning - u might want to read the pinned posts in the applications forum or post this in there so bruce sees it.

one thing some people overlook is the players.dat file. if u input player notes through the file>setup>projections part of DD you will lose your notes when you bring in the latest version of DD. to avoid this save the players.dat file in another folder (even rename it to be safe imo). then bring it back into the DD folder after u install it and rename it players.dat. i hope that made sense.

also - i think the SOS has been updated since you last installed DD so installing the latest version might be a good idea.

:goodposting: I do my own projections, so heres what I do so I dont lose them when I install an update: install the new version in a folder other than my usual DD folder...Then I move the app to my old folder. This way I get the updated bug fixes without losing ANYHTING I already had
