Draft Dominator (1 Viewer)

Okay, so nobody has answered the questions in the APPS thread about the release of the DD... I'm hoping staff will see it here and respond...It was released on June 1st last year. Do we have a time frame...drafts (as crazy as it is) have already started.

"En boca cerrada no entran Moscas."

Make up your own rankings.....it's all draft and follow for the most part.

:tumbleweed:

Certainly does seem like the subscriber side of this site is taking a nose dive.
Actually, it's all 30M Fantasy football players, and their information providers, that are taking the dive.Goose =>Lays then crushes=>Golden Egg

You wanna be the one to ask David Dodds if site traffic is down more than 50%?

Um, the lockout might have something to do with it. DD requires full projections for every player. With all the possible FA players without contracts, there are probably too many holes in the projections to make DD useful for the basic user.

the draft dominator alone is worth the price of the FBG sub

you can always use last years DD and adjust the projections..

My guess is that no official response means it won't be out for quite a while.
Actually Henderson never responds to any question, seemingly, ever. The last few years he's almost like an anomaly. His name is attached to the DD, but that's about it. Regardless, while the DD is a nice piece of software, it still isn't mac compatible which is an absolute travesty. People on this site have been asking for a mac compatible version of DD for several years. No talk about it. Ever. The DD hasn't been updated in years either other than the projections. Other software (like Rotoworld's) is catching up and it's only a matter of time before the DD gets passed up if it doesn't improve upon itself. I would guess that if that happens Footballguys is going to lose a lot of subscribers, because they are quite a few members that only sign up for the DD.

I had asked if their was any type of refund, with a half-season etc, No response, seems like the customer service side isn't there this year either.

I have to disagree. Often got near immediate email replies from Henderson last year when having issues understanding some settings. Also, understanding that the DD updates are related to new projections, it seems foolish to do projections right now when rosters and depth charts aren't updated, and won't be for a month after practices start.

Hi, I never saw your question. Bryant@Footballguys.com is the best way to reach me with a question. For a refund, every customer has 45 days from the date of purchase or Sept 31, whichever comes first, to get a full refund, no questions asked. That money back guarantee is something we've done for a long time. If we have a season cancellation, subscriptions would roll over to next year. J

Hi Raskell,Sorry for missing your questions. By far, the best way to get an answer is to shoot me an email at bryant@footballguys.com With as busy as the boards are, I honestly miss a lot.The DD is founded on stat projections and we're hoping to have all we need there this week. Our Jason Wood has his done and we'll have the rest very soon. The target date we're shooting for on the DD release is 6/20. It's possible we could miss that but that's what we're shooting for. The obvious delay is from the uncertainty we're dealing with on the lockout. Things are still miles from being clear but we'll do our best anyways to get you the best info we can based on what we know. Thanks.J

Joe, care to answer why the DD isn't mac compatible yet?
Tempted to make a mac user joke here, but maybe shoot him an email like he said above. What difficulties do you see making DD mac compatible?
Why shoot him an email? This is a forum. He reads them. He can respond to it in public. What difficulties? Well, it isn't mac compatible. I have to partition my hard drive, buy a microsoft OS (like XP) and run a specific piece of software (parallels or similar) to make it run. It's completely ridiculous with the amount of people that own macs and have asked for compatibility over the last 4 years, that it isn't compatible yet.

This seems like a year having up to date timely info will be very important. Things are going to happen fast. Hoping for lots of timely updates to Dominators and breaking news. Planning and setup are nice, but it's all going to change fast.

Bruce was last active on April 9th and he hasn't made a post since January 16th. You were saying?I should also add, that I made a post over there back in May asking if the DD was going to be mac compatible this year. You know how many responses there are? Yup. Zero.

Read what Joe wrote about reaching him. He misses stuff in the forums. What would fbg have to do to make it mac compatible and available? How much would it cost? Just wondering. Do you know?

Perhaps because FBG does not have the resources to devote to creating a version of DD for a platform that enjoys a, what, 10% market share? That doesn't seem unbelievable to me at all. That would be like you buying an electric car and then start asking your favorite gas station why it doesn't give you a place to charge your car. If I was going to invest is a platform that has such a small market share, I think it would behoove me to also invest in VirtualBox, Parallels, Bootcamp, or some other VM solution so that I could run Windows program. In other words, get a hybrid. You bought your car, now drive in it.

He read this thread and decided to respond to everyone's post but mine. You think an email will help?

I have no idea. I can't imagine it would cost much. Seems to be hiring someone with the time to do it. Almost all software nowadays comes for Windows and Mac.

It actually has over a 15% market share and growing every quarter. Bottom line, there are a lot of members that would love a mac compatible version. Name another competing websites version of DD. Got one? Well, it has a mac compatible version. There is just no legit reason why DD doesn't.

Hi, yes an email absolutely will help. I wish I could see every post on the forums but the reality is I don't.For the mac question, we realize Macs continue to be a big part of things. My laptop is a Macbook air. iPads are growing like crazy. iPhones already are there. The answer, like most things, is simply money. While we'd love to have a full blown Mac version of the DD, we felt other things were more important. We continue to work on this though and we hope to have something excellent for our Mac guys this season. It won't be the full blown DD in Mac, nobody has that. But we hope to have something our Mac guys will like. Thanks.J

Updates? for what? How would you do projections for San Diego's wr's when we don't know

who they are. RB 2 for Baltimore? RB1 and 2 for NE? QB for Arizona?

Should Joe and company should just do a mass email stating the painfully obvious?

Nothing is happening - What do you want us to do? Every one is frustrated.

No news until we actually have news.

We are close on a full scale Draft Dominator for the Mac this year. It's missing just a few parts that we hope to have rectified soon.

My projections will be released later tonight. I have about 45 hours into these things (by far the hardest we have ever done with so many unknowns). Draft Dominator, VBD App, New ADP, and Rate My Team features are all coming this week.

I retract my previous statement...getting excited now :football:

Have to say, anytime I've emailed David with a question or request, I've been amazed at how quickly he responds. I couldn't be more impressed with their attention to customer service.

EVERY FBGer has responded quickly to my (often silly) email questions regarding applications, articles, rankings, etc. over the last 3 years. You want an answer? Find the owner and email them. It's what they do.

you have a MAC?go download VMWarerun windows on your MAC. problem solved.
thats what I was thinking. VMplayer is free and all you gotta do is make an iso image of the xp os and run it inside OS X or whatever you run. could of had DD a long time ago this route.
yep. it will act as a stand-alone box. It requires to be booted up. logged into and shutdown within your MacOSvery easy to setup and everything is 'free
