Draft Regrets.... (1 Viewer)

Well,

Most Leagues have completed their drafts, and with game 1 of the season starting tomorrow, who was a guy that you drafted (as a starter) that you are a little worried about having to start?

I decided there was a ton of value to be had at WR so I waited until round 5 to draft my 1st WR. I ended up with a WR core of Reggie Brown, Joey Galloway, and Santonio Holmes. When compared to the rest of the teams I am very nervous about my WRs as it doesnt appear I have a WR1. Im already starting to think about offering Foster around for an average WR but I dont wanna make any panic moves.

I also have the no clear cut WR1, with Reggie Brown, Bruce, D.J. Hackett, Cotchery and Jones (GB), I am worried I may have to go with Cotchery, Brown and Bruce....and compared to some other teams....it looks real bad. But having LJ and Manning help to keep me a little calm.

Roethlisberger, Ben PIT QB
I actually wish I had Ben. I waited to grab him late since most teams had QBs, but someone took him as a backup right before my selection. I've got Losman as my only QB and I have no idea how he's going to pan out.

I somehow ended up drafting Braylon Edwards in all my leagues. That's a big commitment for someone who is on a horrible offense and hasn't done much in his career.

Plax getting injured... I can't afford to lose him!
I drafted Plax as well (as my WR1) . . . but as I look back, he was still better than the other WRs I had to pick from in the middle of the 4th . . .at least Newman is hurt, so Plax might actually put up some numbers Sunday night . . .

I think that is a little harsh. Edwards has progressed better than I could have ever expected given his horrible situation. He got twice as many targets in '06 as '05 and ended up with twice as many catches and TDs, and almost twice as many fantasy points. That is very solid improvement between his first and second years. If it weren't for the truly lousy offense and QB situation, I think this guy would be viewed as a true rising star.

er 900/6 coming off an injury like he was aint so horrible. Now he's healthy and should (should) have improved OL, QB, and RB play. Yeah not someone you exactly want to feature, but should be a quality backup at least and could give some big games. If the rest of your team is strong, you could do worse for sure.

My QB's in a 2 QB start league:

Kitna

CPep

McCown

Croyle

Beck

We drafted EARLY and I took Vick.

LJ and Edge together as my RB1/RB2. Hope he can sniff his numbers while in Indy. I reached in the 2nd for TO and that cost me in the 3rd drafting someone I had no intention of getting.

I have to play either Fred Taylor or DeShaun Foster as my RB2. Our league is RB-crazy, so 17 RB were gone when I picked at 2:7 in my 14-team league. Our scoring heavily favors RBs (4pt passing TD, no ppr, start 2 RB, 2 WR/TE, 1 RB/WR/TE). Still, I just couldn't pull the trigger on Peterson, Deuce, Thomas Jones, Lynch or Cadillac when Steve Smith and Chad Johnson were available. I took Smith, then grabbed TO in the 3rd instead of the crap RBs that were out there. My indulgence in WRs made me very thin at RB (Parker's my RB1), but hopefully my strength at WR will offset that weakness.

Depends on who he is for you. As WR2 I would have concerns. I have him at WR3 and happy with that but still looking for other candidates.

I'm starting Deshaun Foster and Tatum Bell over my other wide receivers this week (R. Brown, J. Galloway, Brandon Marshall. Already starting J. Porter against Detroit.)

Picked both Foster and Bell in my 4.14-5.1 swing (14 team PPR, already had LT2 and Benson) because a lot of teams are short on RBs. I should have drafted one of them and drafted Randy Moss, Braylon Edwards, Plax Burress or Matt Hasselbeck instead. My QBs are Losman and Cutler. Hopefully they'll work out. Hopefully either Bell or Foster gets hot at the start and I can upgrade my WR core.

3 different leagues

C Portis

R Brown- ouch, have him in two leagues

Colston- not sure why except I have him in two as well

Caddy

M Turner- he was my boom/bust pick and it's looking like bust.

My awesome WR corp of Vincent Jackson, Santonio Holmes and Jericho Cotchery...ugh

Edit: And my awesome RB corp of Benson, Caddy, Norwood and Turner.

s.moss

j.galloway

v.jackson(traded away d.bennett)

k.curtis

r.curry

i guess the trade off is i have decent rb`s

b.westbrook

t.henry

c.benson

L.white

k.jones

i would imagine the teams with weak or average wr`s are sitting pretty at rb.

I'm starting to have drafters-remorse over MJD in 3 PPR leagues (took him at 2.3 in one).....hope FBG's are right about him being the 9th ranked RB in that format cause I'm scared to death of that whole Freddy T,Jones,Garrard situation.

Also a little scared of Adrian (15th ranked) although I did get him fairly cheap.

I drafted Boldin with Javon Walker still on the board. I already had Henry...really if Walker didn't have the knee scare, I probably would have taken him.

Oh well, I think Boldin will easily get more yards, just the TDS may be lower but I think he will play the Hines Ward in that offense and get lots of catches short and he can use his physical size and speed to gain YAC

I'm with you, hove. I nalso waited one round too long to get a QB, and got stuck with Eli and Losman. Yuck! I hope both are good for plenty of GTP all year, but I'll sure be working the trade line and waiver wire looking to upgrade at QB. As far as this week goes, I'll probably be Eli against Dallas...and I'll have my fingers crossed all nite. :blackdot:

MJD in 2 PPR leagues when I vowed not to draft him....think last year was an aberration and he wont repeat. But when its between him and Ronnie Brown for your RB2 in two different leagues...

Pretty much like he does every year?

Why is everyone so worried about MJD? Relax guys, he's not a fluke. He can only get better every year Freddy ages. Crack a beer, sit back and enjoy the show...it's all good

Vince Young

He was horrible versus the Jags last year....

I'm thinking of starting Schaub (gulp!) against the Chefs.....he's looked good in preaseason and my guess is either the Texans will be playing catch up and passing a lot or they will win big by a couple big pass plays (Jacoby Jones sighting).

Reggie Brown as my WR2. I stocked up on sleeper WR's since I didn't get two studs...

AD as my RB2. I'm not worried too much about his production-more worried about his health. I do have CT just incase but I'd rather not have him as my RB2 if possible...He was serviceable last season but he's not going to carry me to the playoffs!

I think the rest of my lineup is $$

P.S. I would go Schaub over VY for Week 1.

I'm worried about my RB depth. If SA or LJ go down I am left with Maroney or DeAngelo Williams.

Also worried about my QBs. I have Big Ben & Romo (Start 1)

I'm going with Ben as my #1, but I don't feel either 1 of them is a solid #1
