Drafting from 7 spot - 12 teams (1 Viewer)

Update:

1.7 T Barber :excited:

2.6 T Holt

3.7 W Dunn

I traded 4.6 and 11.7 for 6.12 and 7.1 so I am looking at this:

5.7 RB3

6.6 RB4

6.12 WR2

7.1 WR3

7.7 WR4

8.6 QB

I don't see a huge difference between RBs in the 4th and 6th, mostly guys with question marks. The trade allows me to get my WR4 in the 7th instead of the 11th, big difference. It is a start 3 WR league, so WR4 plays at least three times on byes, plus fills in if my starters get dinged up.

Update:

Grabbing the undervalued older guys seems to be the way to go with this slot. My projected draft will be something like:

Barber (you probably won't be as lucky as me to get him here, maybe Jackson or Rudi)

Holt (or other top tier WR here)

Dunn

? I traded this pick

T Jones

D Rhodes

R Smith

E Kennison

QB of choice

Of Barber, Dunn, T Jones, D Rhodes I only need to start two. Chances are the owners of Benson and/or Addai will be calling me around week 3 to get the real starter.

Kennison will be top 25 easily, good for WR3.

Had hoped Ronnie Brown would be there for me at 7, but the injury to C. Perry I would be happy with Rudi. :banned:

From my draft 8/19

Portis

Holt

Boldin

K. Jones

Droughns

Jamal Lewis

Branch

Tatum Bell

I'd still be happy if it worked out that way!

Just drafted from this slot 20 minutes ago, here are the results in order:

Rudi

Steve Smith

Reggie Wayne

Kevin Jones

Reuben Droughns

Javon Walker

Alge Crumpler

Jake Plummer

Aaron Brooks

Miami D

Indy D (somebody grabbed NE on the way back to spoil the infamous Miame/NE combo)

Ben Watson

Kevan Barlow

Josh Brown

Whatcha think?

This is a prime example of why knowing your league is important. In my league Boldin was gone at 3.1, K Jones was taken at 3.5, Droughns and Lewis also went in the 3rd. Knowing how long these guys will last is key to what you do in the 3rd, WR or RB.

Yeah, sort of. If Boldin is there in the 3rd at that spot, you sort of have to grab him, IMO. Even with those RBs gone, you can grab a Gore or T Jones in the 4th. They, to me, are as likely to be good as K. Jones or Droughns. But, again, that's just my opinion.

I just had my 12 Team redraft no PPR draft tonight, it is a guppy league but my team is the following.

1.07- Manning

2.06- L. Jordan

3.07- H. Ward

4.06- Darrell Jackson

5.07- Jamal Lewis

6.06- Matt Jones

7.07- DeAngelo Williams

8.06- Michael Clayton

9.07- Lawrence Maroney

10.06- Brandon Lloyd

11.07- Braylon Edwards

12.06- Chris Simms

13.07- Denver D

14.06- Jeff Reed

15.07- Mike Nugent

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/T, 1 Kicker, 1 Def, all TD's worth 6pts

I'm very pleased with my draft, I may be a little weak in the third Wr and weak at Depth for RB, but overall I think I did very well.

Totally in agreement on Boldin.

Nice, but I think you're nuts to take Portis where you did.
From my draft 8/19This was pre-TJD, so easy.

Who are you targeting @ 7 with these guys gone:

Top 3

Tiki

SJax

Rudi

????

I took Portis @ 7 (also pre Duckett) and would consider it again, even now. Even SJax is dinged and has the S Davis vulture rumors swirling in STL.

Brown looked OK (himself), but MIA's O line was brutalized by CAR tonight.

Jordan plays for OAK :X

Caddy has ?s and 2 potential TD vultures.

Dom D is shelved

Unless you get 6 pt. pass TDs or play 2 qbs and take Manning, the RB situation is murky at best right now past the 4th pick.

8/24-First year of a new keeper league (just keep up to 3 for 1 year / forfeit same rd pick)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note1 - this was a local live draft and a new bunch of guys for me. I had no clue there would be so many minnows.

Note2 - there were some rigid draft pos rules (max 4rb/5wr or 10 total qb/rb/wr out of our 16 picks. must take 2each te/k/d).

Note3 - start QB/RB/3WR/TE/K/D and 1flex

1.07 R Brown

2.06 T Holt

3.07 R Moss

4.06 Driver

5.07 K Jones

6.06 Maroney

7.07 T Jones

8.06 Matt Jones

9.07 LJ Smith

10.06 Vick

11.07 Farvre

12-16 filled in Wiggins, Mia & Jets D, Kasay & Scobee K.

I am getting demolished in the mid rounds from this spot.

6th round, had targeted A Green, Dillon or Rhodes for my RB4 with this pick. All three were taken in the 4 picks prior to me. Filled WR3 instead with Kennison.

7th round, had targeted D Williams as RB4. He was taken just before my pick. Settled on taking my QB, two rounds earlier than planned since there was the most value at this position.

8th round, had targeted E Wilford as WR4. He was taken three picks before me. What the? His ADP is 11th.

12-team draft yesterday. Pretty standard except .25/reception for wr's and .5 per reception for te's.

I was in the 7th slot.

1.7 R. Johnson

2.6 A. Gates, Passed on Holt and L. Jordan. In retrospect probably would have taken Holt. Sounded like I could have gotten Gates in third.

3.7 FWP, thought hard about taking Wayne here but thought I might get him next pick. Thought about C. Talor here too.

4.6 K. Jones. Wayne gone one pick before me.

5.7 M. Bell. Need Wr's but had to take him. I'm not too enthusiased about FWP or Jones.

6.6 A. Johnson

7.7 M. Vick. Eli goes one pick before.

8.6 L. White

9.7 D. Williams

10.6 Clayton-TB

11.7 V. Morency

12.6 I. Bruce

13.7 Baltimore

14.6 K. Curtis

15.7 Josh Brown

16.6 Volek

A few sharks and a few newbs. Wayne and Manning getting swooped up right before my picks really hurt. For the level of competition in the league I'm not that psyched with my squad. Hopefully Bell is legit so I can trade for a WR. We start 2 rb, 2 wr and one flex wr/rb.

Here's what I did last night:

PPR, start 1qb, 2rb, 4wr, 1te, k, def, bonus 5pts for 300yd passing and 100yd rush/rec

Keep 3, first draft...one keeper has to be after the 10th round

Wanted Ron Brown but he went #6. LT, LJ, SA, Barber, Edge also off the board.

1.7 SJax

2.6 Holt

3.7 FWParker

4.6 Driver

5.7 D. Foster, ended up with Rod in the 6th, so happy

6.6 Rod Smith

7.7 Thomas Jones, loved this pick here

8.6 Watson, maybe early, but was 9th TE off the board

9.7 Williamson

10.6 Warner

11.7 Brooks

12.6 Sam Parker, my least fav pick of the night, but WRs were pretty thin, wanted Chad Jackson but would have been 3rd WR on same bye

13.7 Roethlisberger, mid 20's QB taken, needed to solidify here

14.6 Rackers, 2nd K off the board

15.7 Ced Wilson, like this pick here

16.6 J. Norwood

17.7 Alex Smith TE

18.6 Washington Def

19.7 Philly Def

20.6 Stover

Missed out on Rivers, Maroney, Lendale, etc. for that 10th round plus keeper. Hoping Norwood shines, maybe Alex Smith turns into a top 10 TE.

My 12 team draft is complete as well. I drafted 7th.

1 Rudi

2 Holt

3 Driver

4 Foster

5 Dunn (This pick was actually the day before TJ's trade)

6 D. Williams

7 Bulger

8 L. Coles

9 Michael Clayton

10 Witten (Mistake probably)

11 Carolina

12 Brooks

13 Toomer

14 Akers

15 Leftwich (2 teams had only 1 QB...trade bait)

16 Norwood

So

Bulger

Brooks

Leftwich

Rudi

Foster

Dunn

D. Williams

Norwood

Holt

Driver

Coles

Mi Clayton

Toomer

Witten

Akers

Carolina
