I'm curious who else has the same problems that I have every year when drafting - getting a team with too much depth?
You may scoff at the notion, but I find myself using all the tools, doing all the research and generally leaving most of my drafts laughing inside at how good and solid my team looks. I get compliments that my team looks pretty solid and should once again challenge for the top spot.
Then the season starts, now I have the problem of figuring out which players to start each week. Some weeks the prognosticators are right on and I make the right choices and win, other weeks, I guess wrong, lose and get laughed at because "once again my bench out scored my starters".
Where do you draw the line during the draft and pass on tremendous value? I know that there is the school of thought, if this guy is on my team, then I don't have to play against him; Also, this will be great trade bait, IF I can find someone with something that I want.
I feel bad hoping that one of my players gets injured to make my weekly decision easier.
I'm thinking this year of drafting my starters, covering the bye weeks with "the best option" (which may be a reach) and then grabbing some project player (2nd half of season starter). This goes against the VBD, but what is a owner to do?
