Was this just a fluke or will Tampa Bay do the same thing to his stats????

From 2006:

WK TM OPP CMP ATT YD TD INT RSH YD TD

5 NO TB 21 33 171 1 0 1 -3 0

9 NO TB 24 32 314 3 0 6 9 0

20 NO CHI 27 49 354 2 1 1 8 0

Doesn't seem to much to worry about.

I wouldn't put much stock in last year, but regardless I can see a big bounce back game by the whole team. They were thoroughly embarrassed on national TV, and I see them coming out firing on all cylinders against an inferior opponent.

Brees didn't seem very comfortable against the Tampa-2 a few days ago.

That being said, he's a must start in most leagues unless you've got a terrific backup.

Payton needs to stop trying to prove he's an offensive genius and just pound McAllister. The passing game will open up just fine if he scales back the game-plan. He outsmarted himself against the Colts...

Kinda like Michigan heading into the Oregon game.

Didn't IND run the Tampa 2 as well? Doesn't Brees have troubles with that defense? I'm hesitant...OK, maybe not since I have no other option.

Strange thesis - I see little correlation other than both teams lost badly in week one.

Pretty sure the national consensus was that Michigan was going to roll Oregon for the same reasons you think NO will roll Tampa Bay. Didn't work out that way.A loss like that (Michigan's or NO's) can also cause a team to doubt itself and send it into a downward spiral.Just ask the 2003 Auburn football team.
