Drew vs Bush (1 Viewer)

I mean they are using Drew kind of the same way Bush is being used ( Less touches but still )

Am i the only one thinking that Drew might be able to put up better numbers then Bush over the next few seasons.

From my handle you can tell that I'm obviously biased, but I think there's a distinct possibility that Jones-Drew puts up better numbers than Bush in the NFL. When healthy, Jones-Drew was unstoppable in college (with a much worse supporting cast than Bush). Being dinged up was the only thing that prevented him from realizing his full potential.

Everytime I have ever seen Mojo play at the pro or college level, I have been thoroughly impresssed. It is certainly within reason that he is a better fantasy option for the next 2 years.

Mojo's the man. I watched him a lot during his career (was going to UCLA at the time) and can honestly say that he's got a shot at being just as good as Bush in the role he will play, particularly since no one gave him a real shot to be that good. He plays with a HUGE chip on his shoulder, and is tremendously powerful, particularly for a guy his size. Plus he's elusive and small enough to dance around a little.

Fair comparison.

I actually wish they would use Bush on Kick Returns as well as Punt Returns.

Mojo is an interesting young player. With short RBs you generally worry about them being able to pick up the blitzing LBs, but he's done an excellent job with that so far. You worry about fumbles, no issue there so far. And injuries, he's been healthy for all of camp and not been on the injury report yet this season that I recall. He also runs with a good deal of power for a short RB. As of yet he doesn't seem to have the traditional weaknesses in his game that associate with short RBs.

He does however have a lot of the positives you associate with short RBs. He's amazingly sudden on the football field and has more straight ahead speed then I expected. He catches the ball well and seems to have a nose for the endzone. I've never been a fan of all the so called "Thunder" and "Lightning" backfields. But longterm the idea of teaming Drew with Greg Jones is very interesting. It looks like Drew is going to be another excellent second round pick for the current Jags front office, joining Rashean Mathis, Greg Jones, Daryl Smith, and Khalif Barnes.

I would be concerned about the future of Greg Jones. Isn't this his 3rd ACL tear?

I think it's his second and yes, there is of course some concern about him coming back as a RB. But I think a lot of fantasy people in particular don't realize how well Greg Jones has played as a pure fullback. If he never fully recovers to the point that he a viable RB, he still may be able to have a long career as a fullback. But he's been very upbeat, says this tear isn't as bad as the one he had at FSU, he knows how to rehab and is attacking his rehab, and expects to be 100% next fall. We'll see.

I checked it out and it is only his second ACL tear. He has had one in each knee.

Normally a short running back is smaller. not just shorter. That's not really the case with Drew. He's 5'7 and 212 lbs. His legs are about the size of Arnold Schwartzenegger's.

I think many of you are underestimating just how good of a receiver Bush is. That is what makes him so special and what makes his upside so much higher than anyone else imo. And I mean that as no slight to MJD.

i think that eventually, bush will develop into a better runner than drew. drew is playing like we expected bush to play this year, but over time, bush will develop into a better runner with a better offense around him.
