Driver and Walker have both had some noise in this offseason. Driver got a deal redone with the Packers and Walker got a bigger deal (if he plays it out) from the Broncos.

My question is simple. Who would you rather have on your NFL team?

Not fantasy? Not just for this season?Walker in any long-term format.

Give me the healthy guy.Give me the professional.

Give me the guy who doesn't try and screw the team in order to further his own interests.

Keep the guy with more talent. A field full of good character will accomplish more than a field full of me-first stars.

Note: I don't hate Walker as much as most, but do think his actions over the past 2 years in GB were at the very least distracting.

Your argument makes sense... I just don't think for these guys it matters as much.Sure Walker's an ### hole, and Driver seems to be a great guy, at least to the media.

But Walker has far more upside and is far younger than Driver, which tips th scaales IMO.

Better question would be... T.O. or Ward?

I think, then I would go for the "professional"

In redraft - DriverIn keeper/dynasty - Walker

Driver should have a great year with Brett trying to make his last year worthwhile, he's been the #1 there on and off and has put up great numbers. That being said, this is the last year I expect much out of him due to age and Brett issues. Brett will still put up TD's and Driver looks to be the one to catch them. And if Brett throws INT's, thats just more long bombs to Driver as the Pack plays catch-up!

Walker is coming off a major injury, is learning a new and different offense, has only performed for one season, and has a marginal downgrade at QB. His upside really shines if he's a keeper or a dynasty player because he has a year to learn an offense and fully heal that knee. Additionally, Walker will likely be getting drafted higher than Driver so one would get much better value with Driver this year.

:goodposting: After this year, the Packers go into complete rebuilding mode, and I think Favre retires after this go-around. Driver's value should drop next season, while Walker will be 2 years removed from the ACL by next season and have a year in Denver's system.

This year, Driver is the better fantasy choice, IMO. Next year (and following), Walker is likely to out-produce Driver.

On my NFL team, I'd want Driver. Team players over me-firsters, def.

Driver is 31...that's not very old for a receiver at all. If Rodgers steps in next year, Driver will still be the guy and still has some years left. He's the safer bet IMO for the next 2 - 3 years and can be had 2 to 3 rounds later in a dynasty draft. Walker has more of an upside, but also has a bigger downside He did it for one year, injury, made waves with his teamates..... Driver does it year after year. Driver has better value in any format IMO.

Javon is 27Driver is 31

A difference but not a huge difference.

I have to go with Donald Driver. Javon Walker is coming off a season ending injury and isn't making cuts yet. I don't think he will be 100% at the start of the season. Rod Smith knows the system where Javon will need to learn the playbook. Add in the chemistry that Plummer & Smith have. Driver is the clear #1 guy on the Packers so with all this in mind I think the choice is easy.

For this year, Driver. For beyond this year, Walker.

Favre will probably (possibly) retire at the end of the year.

If he does, Driver is one year older, and a new QB.

Walker is coming back from injury this year. Not sure if he'll be what he was before the injury. It might take him a year to return to top form.

Walker easy.

Which WR will help my team win???

Walker has the special ability for a WR while Driver is a run of the mill WR.

Plus have you heard of any problems for Walker about how he treats his teammates or how he is a bad leader??

Yes he had issues with the FO about his contract, but that does not make a bad teammate. He has not held out of any games or caused any problems. He handled is messy stuff during the offseason when it does not impact any teammates or hell even the team.

Driver is a decent WR, but not a true #1 WR. So I would take a true #1 WR anyday of the week

Why do you think Walker has so much more talent than Driver? This often puzzles me. He put up a season with 1382 yards and 12 touchdowns. Driver's last two season have been over 1200 yards. He he's averaged 7 touchdowns in those two seasons. But touchdowns tend to be volatile in nature. I don't understand what it is about Walker that has people thinking he is so exceptionally talented. Please explain your reasons.

Driver runs good routes and is a solid possession receiver. Walker has Moss-like talent and took some time to grow into the offense. They have comparable floors, but Walker's ceiling is much higher, especially longterm.

Walker has Moss-like talent
He's closer to Moss in ability than he is to Driver. Walker was a first-rounder out of Florida State. Driver was a seventh-rounder from Alcorn State. As it is, I didn't necessarily mean the same level of talent as much as the same skillset of using his body, making catches in traffic, and breaking away from defenders. I appreciate all that Driver's done for the Packers, and he does a lot of little things that he doesn't get noticed for, but his potential has already been maximized. Assuming Walker can make it back from this injury like other receivers have before him, his stock is still on the rise.

Meh. Driver's ceiling might have been reached, but Javon is 27 years old already and has had 1, count em' 1, 1000 yard season. He gets a lot of slack from supporter. Moss had 6 by that time. Chad Johnson has 4. Hines Ward had 3. Torry Holt had 4. Methinks you give Walker a little too much credit. I don't think he's in the elite class, not yet. He needs to come back stronger than ever to get a ticket to that party.

Riddle #1What NFL player only had 1 1,000 yard season in his 1st 4 years, but is now sitting on 12,287 yards, with nine 1,000 yard seasons to his credit?

Riddle #2

What NFL WR did not have a 1,000 yard season until his 5th year and is now sitting on 10,680 yards with five 1,000 yard seasons to his credit?

Riddle #3 (and the last one)

What NFL WR did not have a 1,000 yard season until his 6th year and is now sitting on 14,934 yards, with nine 1,000 yard seasons to his credit?

I did this from memory, I swear.
1. Jimmy Smith

2. Keenan McCardell

3. Tim Brown
You are correct on all counts sir  Of course the point is, some awfully good WR's took longer than Walker's three seasons, (in Tim Brown's case twice as long :o ) before they had their first 1,000 yard season.

I don't think much emphasis should be placed on Sabertooth's post, where he points out that it took Holt 2 seasons for his 1st 1,000 yarder, Ward 4 seasons  before he had his 1st 1,000 yarder, Johnson 2 seasons & Moss - right away.

Well Jimmie Walker was "KID DYNOMITE!", but he'll get stood up at the goal line too much. Minnie Driver isn't that much better, but she sure is nice to look at. Give me Minnie any day over Walker.

HTH
