who are stat crews employed by? The team I would have thought which would then mean it's the same stat crew.
The team employs them, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are on per-game contracts. I wouldn't count on San Diego employees choosing (or being offered the chance to) drive to LA 8 times a year for the job. Team very well might hire locals.
I don't know one way or the other. Hopefully somebody has some actual knowledge on the subject of stat crew contracts.
