Dunn reportedly to Nats (1 Viewer)

How many OF are they going to play with this year? They going with the 4 OF softball lineup?

Amazing, though, that Dunn was available this long. Guy is awesome.

I would assume Dunn will play primarily 1B. Nick Johnson isn't exactly the most reliable option there.

Kearns and Nick Johnson will be hurt by opening day. Dukes and Milledge will be suspended. Dmitri Young won't be able to fit through the jetway on the trip back from Spring Training.2/$20M sounds high compared to the deals for Abreu and Burrell. Some of that may be a crappy team tax where the Nats have to overpay for Dunn to join a non-contender.

With the standard "small sample size disclaimer", the Dunn 1st base experiment has been tried a few times with brutal results.

They traded for Josh Willingham too, right? Not that he's a stud or anything, but man the Nats seem to be collecting DHs.

Not to :goodposting: but this is fascinating to me.

All of these guys are now on the Nats roster:

Nick Johnson

Adam Dunn

Elijah Dukes

Lastings Milledge

Josh Willingham

Dmitri Young (LOL)

Austin Kearns

Corey Patterson

Wily Mo Pena

Willie Harris

He's a butcher with the glove regardless of where he plays.

and their top position prospect Chris Marrero fits the same mold. :goodposting:It happens every spring but if Willingham can somehow manage to gain C eligibility, he could be an interesting fantasy proposition

I guess the ex-Reds OF Convention will be held in our nation's capital this year.

This looks like a team carefully crafted by Jim Bowden. Surprisingly enough, it was carefully crafted by Jim Bowden.

This comment cracked me up

This is a classic Jim Bowden move - acquire a former top prospect that he's already acquired previously, especially if he doesn't really have room for them on his roster. If Bowden was a general contractor, he'd build houses with nine bedrooms, six garages, no bathrooms, and half a roof.
