I was worried about your team early on but you captured value with Edge and Moss nicely. I think Edge is an interesting pick in that you've stated you want to win it later; most likely Edge will not be helpful next year. IMO, Turner was the pick for you there if you really wanted it next year and beyond.

I was looking at Turner at that pick but figured Edge 2 rounds later than he went in the other was robbery and that my team is starting to put together some pieces that I could at least put myself into contention to win my division and get my money back and if nothing else maybe one of two wildcard spots.Edge is 29 in August and has been a 1000 yd rusher the last 4 seasons and pretty much all his career minus is injury. Arizona passed on Adrian Peterson so they must have at least some faith in him producing past this season to pass on that kind of talent. Plus instead of competition he gets a big Levi Brown to run behind and has Leinart maturing to take pressure off the ground game. I like the situation he's in beyond this season, even if RB's do decline at 30.

ill grade the drafts when we get to 10 rounds.. anything before that and you cant really tell what direction a team is going.

and i just managed to log in.

MFL put out a message this morning saying they are doing server maintenance for 2007 so leagues may be down up to an hour, IIRC.

Seems Q's Legions wants to hold it against me that I timed out on Sunday...I admit that I have Mono and my g/f tried to pick but she didn't make the pick and I missed by 13 minutes and now he is saying I'm a psycho because my g/f died (yes, a long time ago) and I didn't predraft.

What is going to, or what has happened wtih the missed pick? And how does he know about your GF? FWIW, he held my mishap with picking against me too so don't take it personally.

I really, really like Sup Yo's team followed by Q's.
Personally, I think they're both weak (Q much moreso) at WR. Thats rough in a PPR league that you can start 4 WR. I do think Sup Yo has a very solid team, however:Sup Yo 2.11 Palmer, Carson CIN QB12.01 Schaub, Matt HOU QB1.02 Jackson, Steven STL RB3.06 Williams, DeAngelo CAR RB7.02 Norwood, Jerious ATL RB4.04 Walker, Javon DEN WR5.09 Ward, Hines PIT WR6.11 Clayton, Mark BAL WR10.11 Berrian, Bernard CHI WR11.02 Jones, Brandon TEN WR9.12 Witten, Jason DAL TE8.07 Patriots, New England NEP DefI think if one of Norwood or DeWilliams hits big he'll be one of the favorites to win it all.

Wow, this thread lost all steam it had. Any feelings on early favorites ?
Carolina's team is built around winning now so I would call him the early favorite to win for this season alone but after that..... I also like Athens team with the combo of LT/T.Jones/Holt/Wayne that is a very nice core group of 4 and I also like Deuce and Lendale as his #3 and #4 RBs.

Seeing as the TLDL has approached the end of the draft (mid-24th round), I will be beginning to break that league down division by division. Please feel free to add your input and thoughts on the teams.ROGER STAUBACH DIVISIONTHE FOOTBALL EXPERTSQB: Eli Manning, Brady Quinn ®, Trent GreenRB: Reggie Bush, Marshawn Lynch ®, Jerious Norwood, Chris Henry ®, Wali Lundy, Chris TaylorWR: Hank Baskett, Craig Davis ®, Dwayne Jarrett ®, Keyshawn Johnson, Brandon Jones, Matt Jones, Eddie Kennison, Maurice Stovall, Troy WilliamsonTE: Greg Olsen ®, Zach Miller ®, Leonard PopeK: Shayne GrahamDEF: Buffalo, Washington, New Orleans

COMMISH THOUGHTS: Well, I came in planning to build for the future and other than the last three picks that is exactly how my team has come together. There may be some surprises this year from wide receivers but most likely this team is not ready to compete for at least two years. However, a 6-8 season could be within in reach should some players come out of nowhere and Kennison, Keyshawn and Trent Green all reemerge as their glory days.
VELVET ELVISQB: Jon Kitna, Brodie Croyle, Jason Campbell, Drew Stanton ®, John Beck ®RB: Shaun Alexander, Brian Westbrook, Julius Jones, Chris Perry, Kenny Irons ®, Marion BarberWR: Deion Branch, Laverneaus Coles, Roy Williams, Joe Horn, Braylon Edwards, Laurent Robinson ®, Isaac BruceTE: Chris Cooley, Ben TroupeK: Olindo Mare, Mike NugentDEF: Jacksonville, Detroit
COMMISH THOUGHTS: I'm not liking QB situation past this year at all. Drew Stanton may be the future replacement for Kitna in Detroit but I just don't like him enough as a future fantasy starter which leaves Elvis with 3 big question marks. Alexander still has some good production left and Westbrook is money in PPR leagues. However, how much will Hunt eat into his TD's and can Westbrook stay healthy are two huge questions. I do like the WR's. Velvet has some old ones but he should be fine with Edwards and Roy to keep the team young. Troupe is just starting to produce and Cooley has been a consistent tight end the last couple years. However, both are off the same week so Velvet may have a problem that week at tight end. I'm a fan of the Jacksonville defense but it may be tough at one of the higher scoring positions with Detroit as a 2nd option and almost all of the defenses already drafted.
BLOODSTAINED HURRICANESQB: Peyton Manning, Tarvaris Jackson, Kevin Kolb ®RB: Rudi Johnson, Travis Henry, Reuben Droughns, JJ Arrington, Mike Bell, Kenneth Darby ®, Justise Hairston ®, Jamal Lewis, Antonio Pittman ®, Kolby Smith ®WR: Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Bryant Johnson, Devery Henderson, Anthony Gonzalez ®TE: Antonion Gates, Randy McMichaelK: Jason Hanson, John KasayDEF: Denver, Baltimore
COMMISH THOUGHTS: Indy, Indy, Indy. Blood's team has almost the whole Indinapolis offense. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket." Manning has been one of the top QB's since he came into the NFL but it's still a little dicey to be putting everything into him. Especially with two very inexperience backups. Harrison and Wayne both produce together some weeks but there's a big chance that one will hit and one miss each week that Blood has to play both of them so that could knock off a few points. He does have at least two starting backs but as for his third Shanny has been vague about his RB's and for all we know Bell & Henry could wind up splitting carries making both of them almost non-startable. The biggest plus on this roster for me is having two top defenses.
DIVISION THOUGHTS: This divison is pretty much a 2-team race. Experts will likely be eliminated by mid-season leaving Elvis and Blood to fight for the divsion title. Velvet has the advantage at RB while Blood has the superior QB's. What Velvet lacks in TE to Blood he makes up with his WR's. It should be a pretty close race that may come down to the last few weeks of the season and be decided by a game or two. The difference may come down to the superior defenses of Blood. However, any fall by Manning and the Colts offense and Velvet should walk away with the division this year.

RANDY WHITE DIVISIONJACKALQB: Jay Cutler, Tony Romo, Daunte Culpepper, Trent Edwards ®RB: Michael Turner, Adrian Peterson ®, Musa Smith, Brian Leonard ®, Tony Hunt ®, Thomas Clayton ®, Chris Brown, Lorenzo Booker ®WR: Calvin Johnson ®, Anquan Boldin, Patrick Crayton, Brandon Marshall, Steve Smith ®TE: Marcedes Lewis, Jason WittenK: Jason ElamDEF: Dallas, Houston

COMMISH THOUGHTS: Another team building completly on youth. Jackal may get a few victories this year on the explosive games that CJ, Boldin, AP are sure to have at some point during the season but this team likely will compete with the Experts for the 1st pick in next year's draft. Only question is why Jason Elam instead of a younger kicker that will be productive in 2 or 3 years when this team is ready to win some games.
FOR SALE: USED SEX TOYSQB: Matt Hasselbeck, Matt Schaub, Matt CasselRB: Joseph Addai, Warrick Dunn, Thomas Jones, Sammy MorrisWR: Steve Smith, Torry Holt, Donald Driver, Mushin Muhammad, Donte Stallworth, Nate Burleson, Michael Clayton, Ashley Lelie, Kevin WalterTE: Jeremy Shockey, Ben WatsonK: Josh Brown, Stephen GostkowskiDEF: San Francisco, Minnesota
COMMISH THOUGHTS: I'm a firm believer that WR's are a critical part of winning team's in this league and the Sex Toys have a slew of excellent WR's that should put them around the top. Addai is a great young back to center a team around even if he was taken a little early. Dunn and Thomas Jones should be good filler players for a year or two for when Addai if off or has tough weeks along with what will likely be a very good 4 WR/TE setup. The defenses are pretty young and usually haven't been known as top defenses but Minnesota is one that I think could surprise. The Toys will be competing for the top of the division.
YOUR WORST NIGHTMAREQB: Michael Vick, JP Losman, Brett FavreRB: Frank Gore, Clinton Portis, Dominic Rhodes, Ladell Betts, Adrian Peterson, Michael Robinson, Dwayne Wright ®, DeShawn Wynn ®WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Santana Moss, Terrell Owens, Kevin Curtis, Drew Carter, Marty BookerTE: Alge CrumplerK: David AkersDEF: Cincinnati, NY Giants, Oakland
COMMISH THOUGHTS: Nightmare built a pretty good contender through a lot trading. Gore and Portis are a good 1-2 punch and with the injury concern of Portis he has Betts to go to should anything happen. Randy Moss and Owens have had their problems but both have been elite receivers before and still have the ability to be around the top of the position. Fitz is one of the best young receivers in the league and add Santana Moss to the mix and you have what is likely to be one of the best receiving groups in the league. The defenses don't look good on paper but Nightmare has implemented a sort of defense by committee that may or may not work him. The only question on this team lies at QB. If Vick can stay away from being suspended amongst the dog fighting rumors this team should be able to put it together to contend for the title.
DIVISION THOUGHTS: Yet another division that will be a 2 team battle. Both the Sex Toys and Nightmare are pretty even but with Randy Moss in a new home and with the better RB's, Nightmare should be able to pull out the division victory while Sex Toys has a good chance of taking one of the 2 wildcard spots in the playoffs in what could turn out to be a round 1 matchup between these two division rivals in the playoffs.

I'm pretty impressed by Blood's team. He has top QB, TE, #2 DEF (FBG redraft), along with 3 potentially top 10 recievers --wayne, harrison, johnson are 5, 7, 11 respectively according to FBG redraft rankings. His starting RBs are on the older side, but still two, Henry and Rudy, are ranked 13 and 9 in FBG redraft rankings respectively. The RBs take a slight hit being this league is PPR. Defense doesn't really matter, but So lets look at that again:QB: 1RBs: 13, 9WRs: 5, 7, 11TE: 1DEF: 2All of his starting players are in the top 13 of their respective position according to FBG. Honestly, the only reason his team wouldn't win the division would be because all of the eggs in the Indy basket. And really, the only reason that could fail would be serious injuries. I think an injury to Manning tears this team apart. Injuries to Harrison or Wayne really hurt the team. And even injuries to Addai potentially could hurt the team. Future problems could be Dungy leaving and Harrison retiring. This team is my favorite for the division, and after seeing two divisions, this team is the fave to win it all. Without seeing the others, I'm confident to nominate them in the top 2.

And guess who has Football Experts #1 rookie pick next year? ;)

Wow...so am I the only one that thinks the Hurricanes completely owned the TLDL? That team is friggin loaded. He got really really lucky that Rudi miraculously fell that far, and that Henry fell as well but man....what a team. #1 QB, #1 TE, two RBs that will probably finish top 10, 2 top 5 WRs and another one that should be top 15 for years.

IMO, he is far too centered on 1 team. If Manning falls, so does his whole team. Rudi is depenable, but showed some fall-off last year with a reduced YPC. Marvin Harrison is getting up there in years. I'm too scared of Shanny to take any Denver RB early. His team will be good, but I don't like the focus on one team. Especially in a dynasty.

Quick thoughts on my team in VLDL:

Feeling pretty nice about Lonely Up Top. League allows up to 4 WR and being PPR this could be a great choice. Here are my WR:

Chad Johnson

Roy Williams

Lee Evans

Plaxico Burress

Dwayne Jarrett

Reggie Williams

Mike Williams

Chad Jackson

J.L. Higgins

That could potentially leave me weak at RB but I pulled off

Adrian Peterson (Minn)

Kevin Jones

Tatum Bell

Lorenzo Booker

Antonio Pittman

Chris Perry

M.Moore

The plan is to start 4 WR unless KJ is tearing it up, or one of my WRs are on bye/injured. I feel like all 4 of my top WR have top 10 potential for the season and each have huge game potential. I realize that I will have 4 bye weeks guaranteed plus injuries to cover, but that should give KJ more than enough time to get healthy, if not I have great options there. Bell works, and I have Jarrett who I think will progress nicely as the season comes along. I'm also slightly high on Reggie Williams. Not that I'm counting on him, I feel great with him as insurance.

I think my WR group has very little risk however the risk is in my RB group -- Adrian Peterson. I'm not counting on him to be huge, but I'll either need 1000+ and 7 TDs or Kevin Jones to make a nice comeback from his injury.

Vernon Davis

Ben Troupe

TE I  as I have Vernon Davis and Ben Troupe. I can't complain. I usually duck out until the 9-11 round to get TEs but I splurged when Davis dropped to me in the 6th round.

Ben Roethlisberger

Bryon Leftwich

Kellen Clemens

QB I usually duck out also until late. I was a little worried when my 10th rounder came up but I snagged Roethisberger there at 10.4. 2 rounds later I saw Leftwich and had to pick him. News about opening up the offense + him being healthy makes me feel like it could be a nice buy low. Definitely some risk here as both struggled wtih injuries last year but I'm pretty happy with where I got these guys.

Carolina Panthers

St. Louis Rams

Not crazy about em, but not too worried.
