[Dynasty] 2020 NFL Draft Class (2 Viewers)

Claypool, Peoples-Jones, and Van Jefferson all made the leaderboard that @miqws made which averages together a bunch of rankings & mock drafts. With the others, I wouldn't bet on any one of them individually going in the first 3 rounds, but I would bet that at least one of the bunch will go in the first 3 rounds.

 
According to Senior Bowl scouting director Jim Nagy, three scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine told him that Notre Dame WR Chase Claypool weighed in at 238 pounds.

Claypool (6'4/238) weighed in nine pounds heavier than his number at last month's Senior Bowl in Mobile, and Nagy offered up another piece of interesting information in his tweet. "Might be embracing the TE conversion. He’s going to be a mismatch problem at the next level," Nagy tweeted. Three of the four scouts that Nagy spoke with said that Claypool, who has the size that teams look for in a red zone target, "won" the weigh-in portion of the combine. How he performs in the actual testing and on-field drills will have a greater impact on Claypool's draft prospects, but it appears as if his time in Indianapolis has gotten off to a good start.

NFL Media draft analyst Lance Zierlein projects Texas A&M WR Quartney Davis to be a Day 3 selection in April's draft.

Davis (6'1/201) had a solid showing at the Reese's Senior Bowl last month, catching four passes for 53 yards. And during his time at Texas A&M he proved to be a solid option in the slot, but the inconsistent play at the quarterback position limited his production. In order to be a factor at the next level, Davis will need to improve at gaining separation against tight man coverage according to Zierlein. "Willing and able to take on targets in the middle of the field," Zierlein wrote. "Davis was hurt by inconsistent quarterbacking but also found it difficult to uncover against tight man-to-man at times."

Arizona RB J.J. Taylor measured into the NFL Scouting Combine at 5-foot-5, 185 pounds.

Taylor caused a mini-halt of combine measurements, requiring a tape measurer for a ground-up measurement and a sharpie to mark his height. Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson noted of the unique process that it was akin to that of similarly-diminutive RB Darren Sproles (who measured in at 5-foot-6 in 2005).

Boston College RB AJ Dillon measured into the NFL Scouting Combine at 6-foot 3/8 inches and 247 pounds.

Dillon was actually down three pounds from his last listed weight at Boston College, but regardless, he weighed in as the heaviest running back in Indianapolis. Those 247 pounds, by the by, made for an identical match to Derrick Henry's combine measurement. Dillon would obviously love for his pro career to unfold like that of King Henry and will look to impress in athletic testing this weekend, but keep in mind that Henry's athleticism at such a weight is an outlier, not the norm.

The Arizona Cardinals met with Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy, Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb and Alabama WR Henry Ruggs at the NFL Scouting Combine.

"I'm always looking for a fast outside guy. We're going to do what's best for our organization, but those three guys are definitely in play," said Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury. Arizona holds the No. 8 pick in April's draft and could very well have their pick of the wide receiver litter should they opt to move in that direction. This is a team with many holes, though, perhaps most pressingly on the offensive and defensive lines. While it is always interesting to see which players teams are meeting with, we will stress that not too much should be read into said meetings, especially at this relatively early juncture when team plans for the draft are generally fluid.

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein compared Boston College RB AJ Dillon to Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner.

"Dillon is capable of handling heavy workloads and wearing down defenses, but there is a concern from evaluators that it's taken a physical toll on him," Zierlein writes of the big Boston College back. Dillon measured in at 247 pounds for the combine, making him the heaviest back in Indianapolis. To the analyst's note on Dillon's workload, he finished out his Eagles career having taken 845 carries (including 300 or more carries in 2017 and 2019). Zierlein would like to see how Dillon plays carrying a little less bulk, explaining that "dropping weight and adding quickness could be the difference between a future as a committee back or starter."

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that no NFL team is requesting that Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts work out at a position other than quarterback.

Hurts has received a little bit of the Lamar Jackson treatment in terms of talk on a potential position change, but the Oklahoma signal-caller has insisted that he is a quarterback and the expectation coming into the week in Indianapolis was that he would only work out at quarterback. Looks like the NFL is in lockstep with Hurts, here. A Day 2 selection will be in play for Hurts in April should he perform well through the remainder of the evaluation process.

The Washington Redskins are meeting with LSU QB Joe Burrow and Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Washington HC Ron Rivera referred to the meetings as "due diligence." And we would view these check-ins as exactly that, as by far the likeliest draft outcome for the Redskins with the No. 2 pick would either be a selection of Ohio State's Chase Young or a trade down. Washington drafted Dwayne Haskins with the No. 15 selection last April. We did see the Cardinals shunt off Josh Rosen after just one year, but it's far from the norm for a team to give up on their signal-caller so quickly.

Penn State WR KJ Hamler took an informal visit with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday and is meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday.

The shifty, speedy Hamler is an all-around weapon, both as a receiver and a special-teamer (with gadget runs and the like well within his skill-set). He lacks for overt size -- Hamler measured into the combine at 5-foot-8, 178 pounds -- which figures to ding him on some team boards, but with a strong showing in testing, the Penn State wideout should hear his name called at some point on Day 2 come April.

Claypool may be the least surprising of the dozen or so position-switch requests. After coming in at 6-foot-4, 238-pounds, he already solidified himself right into TE range anyway. It's unclear if Claypool will accept the request, but considering he fits the play style and weighed in very heavy for a receiver, it makes sense for him to at least work out as a TE in Indianapolis.
