[Dynasty] - New league setup, have questions (1 Viewer)

I've never played in or commished a Dynasty league, nor has anyone who will be playing in it.

We've all played in keeper leagues before, but I'm sure there are lots of quirks associated with a new Dynasty league.

I cannot find any startup links, though I have searched mightily. I'm essentially looking for a new league FAQ/rule set that I can tailor to my needs.

If anyone would like to post their league rules or PM them to me, it would be greatly appreciated.

12 team league, 20 man rosters.

Beyond that, how should I handle rookies, injuries, etc?

Also, which league management sites are setup to handle the dynasty format?

Thanks.

Myfantasyleague is set up for dynasty leagues as well as regular ones. Usually in an intial draft you would include the rookies and then years after a separate rookie/free agent draft. The draft postions would be based on the records of the teams the year before and the draft would not sepentine. You could create an I/R roster exception of one or two as well as maybe having a taxi squad that a rookie could be on for the year. Just giving you examples of the dynasty leagues I am in.

As for sites, I love myfantasyleague.com, they have most of the bells and

whistles, live scoring, etc., and a lot cheaper than sportsline.

You should also check with with footballguys.com, I am not sure if they

have their own site for hosting leagues or not!! :(

Thanks.
You can check our rules here, although not total dynasty. I wanted to make

things good for the total dynasty guys as well as the re-draft guys, so we throw

the 1st 3 rounds of drafted players back into the pool for the next seasons draft

and it has worked out very nicely.

You can check the rules at the link below, no password needed to

view reports, rules, etc.

We use IR in our league, pretty much unlimited, if they are gone they are gone for

the season when they go on ir. Only players on the IR by their NFL teams

are allowed on the IR, no PUP, etc.

As to rookies, just exactly what do you need to know about handling

rookies? I guess if you are gonna go totally dynasty you will just be

having a rookie only draft each year, or rookie plus f/a dropped or

never taken by a team.

I love myfantasyleague.com, all the bells and whistles and a lot less

costly than sportsline. Also, check with this site, I don't know if they

have their own site for hosting leagues or not. :(

Feel free to ask if you have any specific quesions.

Good Luck!!!!!

Thanks. I was planning on doing something similar to the NFL in regards to injuries. Unlimited IR, but you lose that player for the remainder of the season. 2-3 player PUP (out a minimum of 4 weeks). For taxi squads, are you able to shuffle players into/out of your active rosters? I was thinking that you could tag several rookies and not have to worry about them being lost to waivers.

I'm in a similar situation, but with the added deminsion that we are making it an auction league. I also have been unable to find info on rules and set up. I have questions such as:

If a player is cut and picked up off waivers what happens with his salary cap hit. I.E.- Team A has RB x under contract for $24 and cuts him. Team B picks him up off of waivers for $10 (waiver wire is blind bid). Does team A now have a $14 cap hit or no cap hit, and does team B have a $10 cap hit or a $24 cap hit? If it was a 3 year contract what happens in year 2 and 3?

Anyone with a link to a sink with Auction/dynasty rules the help would be appreciated.
