I think Eli's ranking is about fair. He frightened a number of his owners to benching him (or wishing they could) after Toomer's injury (which other people are just starting to write about - they obviously haven't been listening to me on The Audible). His rating and overall stats went down marketly. Case in point about the observations:As for individual players, a few questions:Eli Manning @ 12, below Leinart, Cutler and VY. Just seems low to me. I know he didn't play well this year, but he still has top 5 talent IMO. How do you see the loss of Tiki affecting him? Schaub and T Jackson above Cambell and Pennington? I know the hype is there for both, but Campbell played well enough to grade higher, I would think.Evans? He was top 7 in some leagues this year, yet you have him at #17. What do you know that we don't?
Now Eli has Shockey and Plax, and not much more. Toomer should come back, but I see him going the way of Rod Smith sooner rather than later. Also the RB uncertainty will not help Eli. Manning really hasn't been terribly impressive for a while. I think others have a higher ceiling and a brighter future than him, but I couldn't argue too much with 2-3 more spots higher (or lower).Schaub is purely speculative, I will give you that. Things will certainly change for him in the next 3 months, but some of that rating incorporates perceived value (and he's commanding good trade value right now).Tarvaris Jackson will be the starter in Minnesota, and his WRs have to improve (hard not to).Pennington's going to lose his job soon, maybe as soon as 08. Clemens likely, small chance for Ramsey.Anyone can throw the 5-10 yard passes he does.Campbell. I still don't know about him. I was very down on him the first half of the year based on how bad he looked in August. His WRs aren't stellar unless Santana bounces back. Evans - as I mentioned earlier, I didn't really touch the Top 25. Perhaps I should have. I think 3-4 spots is a possible move for him - good point. I believe I'd be happier if he swapped spots with TO.And thanks for the earlier compliments.Aron Angel, of Giants.com, reports New York Giants QB Eli Manning's numbers took a dive after WR Amani Toomer (knee) was lost for the 2006 season. Prior to Week 9, when Toomer was injured, Manning's overall completion percentage was up to 61.3 percent. Over the next eight games, his completion percentage dropped to 54 percent. His quarterback rating also dropped from 87.5 to 66.5.
