Dynasty Rankings (1 Viewer)

As for individual players, a few questions:Eli Manning @ 12, below Leinart, Cutler and VY. Just seems low to me. I know he didn't play well this year, but he still has top 5 talent IMO. How do you see the loss of Tiki affecting him? Schaub and T Jackson above Cambell and Pennington? I know the hype is there for both, but Campbell played well enough to grade higher, I would think.Evans? He was top 7 in some leagues this year, yet you have him at #17. What do you know that we don't?
I think Eli's ranking is about fair. He frightened a number of his owners to benching him (or wishing they could) after Toomer's injury (which other people are just starting to write about - they obviously haven't been listening to me on The Audible). His rating and overall stats went down marketly. Case in point about the observations:
Aron Angel, of Giants.com, reports New York Giants QB Eli Manning's numbers took a dive after WR Amani Toomer (knee) was lost for the 2006 season. Prior to Week 9, when Toomer was injured, Manning's overall completion percentage was up to 61.3 percent. Over the next eight games, his completion percentage dropped to 54 percent. His quarterback rating also dropped from 87.5 to 66.5.
Now Eli has Shockey and Plax, and not much more. Toomer should come back, but I see him going the way of Rod Smith sooner rather than later. Also the RB uncertainty will not help Eli. Manning really hasn't been terribly impressive for a while. I think others have a higher ceiling and a brighter future than him, but I couldn't argue too much with 2-3 more spots higher (or lower).Schaub is purely speculative, I will give you that. Things will certainly change for him in the next 3 months, but some of that rating incorporates perceived value (and he's commanding good trade value right now).Tarvaris Jackson will be the starter in Minnesota, and his WRs have to improve (hard not to).Pennington's going to lose his job soon, maybe as soon as 08. Clemens likely, small chance for Ramsey.Anyone can throw the 5-10 yard passes he does.Campbell. I still don't know about him. I was very down on him the first half of the year based on how bad he looked in August. His WRs aren't stellar unless Santana bounces back. Evans - as I mentioned earlier, I didn't really touch the Top 25. Perhaps I should have. I think 3-4 spots is a possible move for him - good point. I believe I'd be happier if he swapped spots with TO.And thanks for the earlier compliments. :pickle:

I am very interested in your ranking of Brian Westbrook at #4. I have him as a keeper in a nonppr league. Other owners have expressed interest in him. Although he finished well, I have him projected as a late first rounder because of injury concerns. Do others agree with him at #4 or is this just an overreactive bump following a couple of good playoff games?
If you're asking my opinion, I'll stand behind the #4 ranking, but if you want others to put forth their thoughts I'll wait to answer.
I always respect your rankings and appreciate your efforts. I would be interested to see other opinions on Westbrook. I could simply be a nervous owner.
Don't worry about Westbrook (and this is coming from a paranoid Eagles fan).Record number of touches, but solid production all year. Total yardage was fantastic. TDs were there. Excellent in both running and receiving. Most of all, played in every game this year AND set a personal high of touches, including 26 carries once in December. The Eagles rediscovered him and the run game after McNabb's injury. Morheinweg will keep that going next year.Have faith.

I disagree on all counts. Minny is going to have to think long and hard about passing on Quinn and/or Russell for Jackson, and I think they will face that decision. For the Jets, I don't know why Pennington isn't getting more love. He is a career 65%/7.2 passer with a 7 to 4.5 TD/INT ratio and a very good W/L record. The JEts are fortunate to have him.

Colin,Have you watched much of the Jets this year?Penny's been throwing 5-10 yard short passes for 80% of his passes. That's why Coles and Cotchery have so many catches. The hope is that they break one and take an 8 yarder for 80. That happened a few times this season (vs. NE, IIRC) but it isn't because of Pennington.I have seen him make some good throws and a few deep this year, but the offense is pure West Coast. I just don't think he can hold Clemens back beyond a year or two.

On Tarvaris - the Vikings have said that it will be Tarv vs. Bollinger for the starting job. I don't buy that at all. They will bring in a QB, but that's to back up Tarv. He's going to be the starter in Minnesota. They didn't want to start him this year, but like other places in 2006 (Tennessee, Arizona, Denver) situations developed where the rookie went in. Tarvaris is a good one and has good skills. I think they let him grow as a starter and have a vet to step in if things go terribly wrong.
