These are consensus dynasty rankings for year 2007 standard FBGs scoring no PPR

If you vote other, please specify.

Also, please comment on your vote, and list any player that should be nominated for the next round.

I like the chatter going on so lets keep that going as we vote.

gheemony made a great point about one way to consider dynasty value for players in rankings by giving 50% value to 2007, 33% to 2008, and 17% to 2009. I know there are many ways to look at this and how hard it is to project for players even for one year. But I think it is significant enough that its worth mentioning. I am sure everyone has a different formula that they might use. But this one to me has some good balance and makes a lot of sense. And honestly probobly should be a topic of discussion in itself but thats another thread. For now just somthing to take into consideration.

Results so far:

1. Ladainian Tomlinson 6/23/1979

2. Larry Johnson 11/19/1979

3. Steven Jackson 7/22/1983

4. Shaun Alexander 8/30/1977

5. Clinton Portis 9/1/1981

6. Frank Gore 5/14/1983

7. Ronnie Brown 12/12/1981

8. Brian Westbrook 9/2/1979

9t. Kevin Jones 8/21/1982

9t. Reggie Bush 3/2/1985

11. Willie Parker 11/11/1980

12. Laurence Maroney 2/5/1985

13. Joseph Addai 5/3/1983

14. Rudi Johnson 10/1/1979

15. Willis McGahee 10/20/1981

16. Maurice Jones-Drew 3/23/1985

17. Adrian Peterson 3/21/1985

18. Carnell Williams 4/21/1982

i like chester taylor here

looks like edge will be pretty under-rated for next season hmmm....

I think i've got to go with Benson here. I'm certainly not a fan of the kids attitude, but he runs angry ala LJ. His situation will likely be in question while Jones is still a Bear, but once Benson gets the keys to the starting job, he's going to be an upper tier back. I see that happening no later than 2nd half 2007. Tom Jones is a nice player, but I don't see an ideal workhorse guy. He's more suited to 3rd downs and spell duty on a grind it out team like Chicago.

Close second probably goes to DeAngelo Williams. He hasn't taken the bull by the horns in Carolina like he probably should have this season, but by all accoutns he's still a guy that projects to be very good. Once the Panthers get that offense going, whoever's running for them is going to have plenty of opportunity on a team that figures to stay competitive. John Foxx's infatuation with Foster is the only thing holding him back.

Caddy took a huge step back this year, and though he's likely about the 20th highest back on that list, i'm not sure i'd feel comfortable as one of his owners. Things are a mess in Tampa.

Chester Taylor is never going to be confused for a special talent. You give any NFL caliber RB 20+ consistent carries a game and he's going to be productive. He'll be the sure starter there next year, but I don't see enough talent to hold off young up and coming guys any longer than that. He's a good player in a great situation, but not exactly the type of guy you want to build your dynasty team around.

Right now there's too many questions around the other guys to have them ranked ahead of Benson, DWill, or Caddy... but Barber is certainly one that's got the potential to easily pass them if things fall into place for him in Dallas next year. I love Jacobs and Turner, but Jacobs has shown too much inconsistency, and is likely going to be in a time share next season. Turner could be grabbed by a team like the Jets if they give up a couple of picks to the Chargers, but even still how much of what we've seen is the Chargers running system making him look good? James' tread is running a little too thin for my liking. Deuce will eventually give way to the next one. And to say the least, Betts is going to have some competition for carries next season.

I just want to say that anyone who would take MJDrew over Peterson is out of thier mind. In a dynasty league if I offered you the 1.1 rookie pick for MJDrew would you do it? Of course you would and you would take Peterson in a second!
