Dynasty & Redraft: WR Mike Williams, Free Agent (2 Viewers)

Rotoworld:

The Newark Star-Ledger reports Bills WR Mike Williams to the Giants is "not going to happen."

The New York Daily News reported Tuesday morning that the G-Men have "some interest" in the disgruntled wideout, but via a "person familiar with the situation," reporter Jordan Raanan says it isn't happening. It's not surprising. There would be no reason for the Giants, or any other team, to give up compensation for a declining player due $5.2 million guaranteed in 2015.

Mike Williams - WR - Bills

Coach Doug Marrone admits Mike Williams and his trade request have become a distraction.

Williams' agent requested the Bills trade his client after he fell behind Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, and Chris Hogan on the depth chart. He may also be behind Mqrquise Goodwin, as Williams was inactive for Week 6 and in a scout-team practice jersey Wednesday. Williams has four years left on a six-year, $40.25 million deal that the Bills are wishing they hadn't dealt for in the offseason.

Rotoworld:

Bills released WR Mike Williams from injured reserve.

Williams is free to sign with any team, as he already passed through waivers unclaimed when he was waived/injured earlier this month. A mess off the field who has declined on it, Williams' phone isn't going to be ringing off the hook this offseason.

Rotoworld:

The player rep for free agent WR Mike Williams has six meetings lined up at the Combine in Indianapolis this week.

Players that were released from their teams have a leg up right now because they can meet/sign with teams before the new league year opens March 10. Of course, these players were released for a reason. Battling both off-field issues and on-field mediocrity, Williams has just 30 catches over the last two seasons while appearing in 15 games for the Bucs and Bills.
