Voted Sweed. I think he is the safest of all the WRs in this draft. I love his situation, playing with a top 5 QB and in a great system. He could have been a first round talent if he was not injured last year. Lastly, I really trust the Steelers scouting department when it comes to early round picks.

Still not sure why Manningham is not placed on these lists. I would have voted for him over Hardy and have him in my top 3 WRs. Looking at the previous thread on the rookie WRs, I think several people have him in their top 5. Not sure what your personal bias is against him but he should at least be given a shot in the poll and let the masses decide.

No, it's my fault. Forgot to add him to this poll. I think I wanted him on the last poll too but forgot. Just doing alot of copy and pasting from the other polls.

Prior to the draft I would have gone with Charles. He was at the end of the list I thought would be 1st round worthy but w/ him going to KC I have bumped him behind the initial WR's coming off the board.

That said, I was torn between Sweed, Jackson and Nelson.

Sweed and Jackson were near the top of my WR list prior to the draft - I went w/ Nelson but that could change if the preseason does not support all the positives I've been hearing about him since his selection by GB.

Other: Malcolm Kelly.
I think you have to run faster than a 4.7 40 to qualify for the first round. :D
:Boldin:
I bet he didn't go in the 1st round in rookie drafts either. If he was the Redskins 1st WR taken then he would definitly be involved in the mix. But he has Moss, Randel El and Thomas ahead of him. Plus Cooley and now Davis. He will have a hard time getting targets. At least until he proves he's better than the other guys.

I knew that was coming, so him and what other WR's in the league ran a 4.7 40 coming out of college? I dont have the numbers in front of me, but i think it is a safe assumption to say of the top 20 FF WR's, most ran faster than that. Also, i dont remember exactly what it was, but didnt Boldin have a legit excuse for his slow 40 time, and not that he didnt know what surface he would be running on?

He's not fast. There's really no disputing that. I see parallels to Boldin because both guys slipped into the second due to knee issues and slow 40 times. I think Kelly has a chance to emerge as one of the better players from the class. I doubt he'll be a superstar, but he could be a Keyshawn type. Given the mediocrity of the other options, I think that's worth a long look this late.

But would you really take him over these other players or just think he should be considered in the conversation?

Dont get me wrong, i think he can be a good WR. I am just a bit suprised you like him, considering how much you weigh combine numbers into your rankings.

I like Flaco here or even up in Ryans spot. Think Flaco will have a better chance to suceed fast. Just dont see much competion in Smith and Boller to keep him off the field long. I would definatly put both QB'S ahead of any WR. Doesnt mean I would draft them first. Just depends on my depth from team to team. Then there is the sleeper backs left. Plenty of them could rise the charts fast left to vote for.

Yea. These guys are basically garbage.

Closing up this one. Gonna give it to Sweed with Charlses right behind.
