Dynasty Startup Drafts (1 Viewer)

barack is barackdhouse, the poster above. I see you got The Unicorn. That's fitting. No Edwards, though, huh? You also got two quarterbacks that might get usurped later in the year in Carr and Taylor. Don't especially like that, but oh well...such is. You and I have differing valuations of players, so that's expected. Not like I can really judge, but I'm down on Damien Harris and N'Keal Harry. Don't see a bright future for them, or at least there's a lot to overcome. But that's cool. Thanks for posting.
I know who Barackdhouse is, I don't know which team he is.  But like I said, my goal was to get some core players and build off that in the future.  4 1sts should easily get me other pieces I need to fill out the roster.  Not thrilled about Taylor or Carr but I got sniped 3x by QB's I wanted and I got a little stuck.  Kirk will be longer term and I'm ok with that.  Unfortunately no Edwards.  And the other players I drafted, I just went for upside.  FFPC roster churning is so heavy that I'm fine if they don't work out.  Maybe a waiver wire pickup will help.

The goal is a couple main stays, and build in 2021.  I have them in Sanders/Kittle/Cousins and hopefully Reagor/Harry/Preston/Akers/Goedert can do something to either maintain value or breakout.  Everything else was upside.

My team sucks.  I'm GameRecognizeGame here, not sure who Barack is.  I am however the only one that was trading out and building 2021 picks.  I have 4 1sts next year to go with my core which I kind of got in the startup.  Everyone else was moving around the draft mostly, just not out completely for future picks.
I like to try and do that if I can, but no such luck in this league. Guess you found the right sweet spots for those other owners. I feel like I made 2 out of every 3 trades in this startup. Anyone wondering I am Team FreakySpice.

I don’t play Superflex so I am not sure of the extent of QB value boost but I really like McGriff approach to loading up on young RB/WR talent and getting a Ryan/Darnold later in draft. He grabbed a ton of player that I personally love like Chubb, Moore, Metcalf.
He was also able to grab Jameis Winston five round after he was initially taken. Smart move!!
McGriff could do that because FFPC superflex has a limit where you can only draft 3 QBs.  If this were a no-limit MFL league, for example, Darnold, and every other QB for that matter, would probably go higher as teams loaded up, and he'd be stuck.

You're the one that gave me a 1st ha, can't remember but was that the JuJu pick?  But yeah I like that strategy the most.  You've built a contender right away, and now that I look at your roster in more detail, there's some players I absolutely hate on your team that I know you're high on.  This will make it fun in the future to trade with you ha.  Difference of valuations is always good.

Yeah you have my 1st, and it was for Juju. I thought maybe I had traded to someone else who flipped it to you, but probably not. Yeah it was my 8th rounder and next year's 1st for the 4.01 OTC to snag Juju. I always prefer to build a contender right away if possible. My February startup I feel I managed to do the best of both worlds and came out with what I think is a dominant roster and two future 1sts.

You can tell me! Who on my team do you hate? I can tell you *almost* everyone on my team I love, with a couple exceptions, which makes sense right? Who drafts players they don't want. I really, really, really, didn't want OJ Howard. You can buy him from me for sure. I just felt like there is at least a chance he still becomes a thing, and I got him so darned late. Juju seems pretty polarizing right now so I wouldn't be surprised if that is someone you hate. I'm sure I can read up on your thoughts but ####. He is a guy you'd probably have to pry from my dead body anyway.

I didn't really intend to draft Nuk, he is a little older than I'd prefer in the 2nd round of a startup, but to pair him with Murray, who I loved picking at #7, was to good to pass up. I'm top heavy at RB with zero depth, and that is a bit of a problem really. Absolutely love my WRs (as usual) and not overly excited about my TEs, which is a little disappointing to me, because I feel like I usually crush TEs. I do love Higbee and Herndon, though so I think I'll be fine, but that was the one spot I got sniped a couple times.

You can sell me Miles Sanders or Derek Carr someday if you feel like moving people. I like a few other names, too, but I know I can't afford them. Like Kittle, Reagor, Unicorn

Not trying to turn this into our own thread or anything from our startup.  DeeJay Dallas I was never interested in but I understand his value could skyrocket.  Hate Henry, Pittman, and Claypool.  Frustrated as hell with OJ Howard, but I can't hate him.  Love JuJu though so maybe there's a deal there in the future.

I just had higher people on my board at the time for that trade that I knew would slip, turns out I didn't get any of them.  Again I hated that 12 spot.

I have O.J. Howard on my dynasty team and fear he's never going to be a thing as long as Bruce Arians is there.

They did say they were switching to base 12 (two tight ends), so maybe? I guess that means Brady is max protect at most times. Gronk looked bad his last year in New England, so I can't see him running that many routes. It may be Cameron Brate that winds up running all those routes (he always more of the receiver type of tight end for Winston).

Anyway, back to dynasty start-up talk.

Yeah Dallas might not make my week 1 roster we'll see. Late flyer, same with Claypool, although I will 100% be keeping him to see if he does anything. Pittman was actually a guy I *didn't* move up to get, even though he was on my list to do so. He actually fell to me in this one. As I see it. Yes I love Henry. I think he will continue as he has for at least 3 years, age acknowledged. All fair, though.

OJ Howard was 15th round. My fear is I will never start him and he will be untradeable and will do just enough to keep you from dropping him. Looking at the startup board, only other names I might have gone with there were Boston Scott or Duke Johnson. I took Claypool in the 16th but I think Howard still has a path to relevance. And I took Brady so what the hay.

You have to be logged into your FFPC account to view any other FFPC league.  If you don't have one you will never be able to see it has nothing to do with the link your given as it works just fine for me.  Either you need to log into your FFPC account or create one (it's free) if you want to look at it.

Now 19 RBs have been taken in 32 picks. One guy has all 3 of Kittle, Kelce, Andrews with Kamara.

That guy is crushing it.  And if he needs to make moves later he will have no trouble whatsoever.
5 years ago I did two FFPC startups simultaneously and in one of them I took Mike Evans in round one then did not take my second WR until round 14 in the meantime I drafted 5 TE's before taking my second WR.The FFPC startup I did before these two I took Graham and Gronk as my first two picks.

Kittle and Kelce are difference makers IMO and like those two picks but I was absolutely not a fan of the Andrews pick. To be sure I'm not as high on him as others and don't view him as a consistent difference maker like the other two.  To many other good players exist for me to take a third TE with my third pick when that's the third TE.

Again, I'm not as high on Andrews as others and don't even have him as my TE3, but I'd not take my TE3 there either. I just think if you are committing your third pick to your third TE it has be a difference maker or a guy a considerable cut above the rest and I don't see that.

I'd add that IMO we are looking at the most robust year for breakout TE candidates I can recall. This team can certainly pull the trigger on some later if they want, as I pointed out no harm really in drafting 5-6 TE's in FFPC dynasty, but later on RB in particular is going to look pretty bleak and I felt his team would have been better off once he had the big two TE's in the bag to address RB if not WR here and then take a shot later on some of the many breakout TE's.
