These are consensus dynasty rankings for year 2007 standard FBGs scoring no PPR

If you vote other, please specify.

Also, please comment on your vote, and list any player that should be nominated for the next round.

I like the chatter going on so lets keep that going as we vote.

gheemony made a great point about one way to consider dynasty value for players in rankings by giving 50% value to 2007, 33% to 2008, and 17% to 2009. I know there are many ways to look at this and how hard it is to project for players even for one year. But I think it is significant enough that its worth mentioning. I am sure everyone has a different formula that they might use. But this one to me has some good balance and makes a lot of sense. And honestly probobly should be a topic of discussion in itself but thats another thread. For now just somthing to take into consideration.

Houshy seems to be a steal at this point. I would love Marvine, but he will be 35 before the start of the season

I can't argue against a few of the WR's that lead the voting right now, but I'm voting for Randy Moss until he is selected now. His upside is just too huge to pass on at this point. If Moss ends up stuck in Oakland he'll be a disaster again, but put him on any one of ten teams in the NFC and he'll dominate again.

This is probably the wrong way to think about this, but I'm going with the "would I trade X for Y" theory of ranking here. As another Braylon owner, there's only a few I would trade him for here. Marvin the proven veteran that some may question how long he will last in the league because of his age.

Housh is a proven veteran just entering his prime with a solid Qb and offense.

Evans is still a young player but he has proven to be improving. Qb and offense around him may have been holding him back. Supporting cast may be improving moving forward (its kind of hard for me to see it being worse than it has been).

These 3 players I think give a very good example of 3 different philosophies for valuing players in dynasty.

Win now = Marvin

Balanced = Housh

Future = Evans

Not saying any of these 3 are the right choice for Wr #13 perhaps someone else is more deserving. But I like the compare and contrast these 3 give as an example of differing strategy.

Sure it does, but how does the plan mesh with the rest of your team? Is winning this year worth needing a new WR in a year or 2? Marvin is HOF worthy, but in 2 years I doubt he's worth much.

I'd consider Evans and Marvin to be of equal value. Housh is worth a little bit more.

Can't understand the TJ love. He's having a great year, but he's still not the best WR on his team. He might not even be the second best WR on his team. Harrison is a great player, but you've gotta think 3-4 more good years max.Evans is almost as good a play as either of these two guys this season, he's younger, and he has more upside. I'd take him over any of these guys in a heartbeat. I'd also probably take Laveranues Coles and maybe even Hines Ward over Houshmandzadeh and Harrison.

I'm going to have to disagree with this comment.Evans is getting a lot of votes at WR #13 here is his career thus far:

This is Evans 1st season to break 1000 yards recieving. He has a lot of speed as shown by his YPC and ability to score TDs still he has yet to break double digit TDs (although hes been close).That Evans is getting votes close to Marvin Harrison at this point is proof enough for me that he is anything but underrated. If he wins the WR #13 slot it will be based on potential more than performance. That is not underrated either. I totaly agreee as I allready stated though that if the Bills improve thier Oline and Qb it will likely actualise some of Evans potential.That is unless you are comparing Evans to Roy Williams then I would have to agree that I don't see Williams as being clearly better than Evans to deserve his ranking. But people really like Roy for some reason.

A lot of great WRs took a few years to get going. Evans used to split catches with Moulds. Now he's the man. In a dynasty, I can't think of more than 6-8 WRs that I'd rather have.

I think he is a great talent and has been improving every year. He is right on schedule. With a better supporting cast he should continue to improve as well.The only thing I disagree with is the idea that he is underrated. That does not seem to be the case here at all.

Evans is underrated - even by your way of thinking. I'll explain:Lee is currently performing at WR 10-12 value. He is close to being regarded as the 13th WR, but may drop to 14-15. That means he is underrated by slot in a redraft. However, he is one of the youngest top WRs in the league, yet gets no juice in dynasty rankings. He is actually in danger of being slotted UNDER his real performance. That means he is being underrated by performance AND dynasty upside.

Lee is currently performing at WR 10-12 value. He is close to being regarded as the 13th WR, but may drop to 14-15. That means he is underrated by slot in a redraft.

However, he is one of the youngest top WRs in the league, yet gets no juice in dynasty rankings. He is actually in danger of being slotted UNDER his real performance. That means he is being underrated by performance AND dynasty upside.

1st of all I don't think a player being ranked 1 or 2 slots lower than thier performance makes them underrated.Some of the players ranked in the top 12 might be overrated.

Using this scoring here is how Evans performane stacks up:

2nd he is ranked as the 15th Wr using this scoring according to http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/EvanLe00.htm so him being voted for @ 13-15 is not under his performance this year or ever.He is 25 years old so younger than Harrison or Housh but the supporting cast around Evans is far inferior to what those 2 Wrs have going for them as well. And that does matter a lot.

ETA- PFR has not updated last weeks games yet so maybe he will move into the 10 slot when it is. But still I don't see that as meaning Evans is underrated.

He is 25 years old so younger than Harrison or Housh but the supporting cast around Evans is far inferior to what those 2 Wrs have going for them as well. And that does matter a lot.

It does, but his performance with that inferior team speaks volumes about his talent. If we think (some around here do) that Losman will improve the next few years, and the OL can only get better, wouldn't it make sense to think that Evans will improve his stats as his team improves?We know Housh's team can't get much better. I suppose 85 could get injured, which would probably help Housh's stats, but he cannot get a better QB or OL. Same with Marvin.

isn't this the average lifespan of a player anyways?Evans, while a good player might have a different QB in 2 years, the same can not be said for Harrison and TJ
